Moms of 1 year olds
So what's your little one eating? How many bottles/ounces per day? When do you plan on getting rid of the bottle?
To anwser my own questions. Isabella is on about 80% table food. I still give jarred her fruit and veggies sometimes, for convienence only. But the girl can EAT! She eats anything and everything.
She on whole milk now, she's doing fine with it. But my only thing is she was used to room temp bottles with formula, but the milk is cold so I have to warm it a bit just to get the chill out. Can I eventually try to get her to take it right out of the refrigerator? Also BJ's doesn't sell organic milk, it's pretty $$$,does anywhere sell it for a decent price?
I want to start giving her one bottle a day in the sippy cup, I've just been putting it off. She takes the sippy no problem...but I wonder if it will be easy with the mlik.
Thanks

Re: Moms of 1 year olds
Sara is 13 months old and eats anything and everything she can get her hands on. I still have baby fruit and ceral for the weekend mornings .. She now uses sipppy cups for all three bottles although I still give her a bottle at night if I see she didnt finish her last cup of milk. SHe is becoming a big girl.
Organic milk is expensive, I buy it at Waldbaums.

Organic milk at Trader Joe's is the best! $5.29 for a gallon - can't beat that anywhere!

Re: Moms of 1 year olds
Jillian I am on the same schedule as you right now. Tori refuses milk in the sippy though. She throws it at me and has a hissy fit until I pour it into a bottle. She takes her water/juice in a sippy with no problems??? We have been using hormone free milk from wherever. I have been warming the milk under the faucet to not give her a bellyache because she has been used to room temp formula. My gf gives her DD milk straight from the fridge with no prob so I wonder........

Re: Moms of 1 year olds
Alyson is 14 1/2 months old and takes a full Nuby sippy of whole milk in the AM after breakfast and she takes a 7-8 oz bottle before bedtime. I'm sure if I tried the sippy at night she'd be fine with it, but I can't seem to let go of that last bottle.
She has been on 100% table food since 8/9 months old. Once she got a taste and was able to feed herself it was all over for us. She's a GREAT eater, the only things she's not keen on is eggs and plain white rice--she'll eat the flavored rices or rice made with cream of whatever soup.
She drinks her milk straight from the fridge...we started doing that with her bottles awhile ago and she was fine with it. She's been playing with a sippy since 7-8 months old with water and was fine with it and it took about 2-4 weeks for her to drink a full sippy of milk....she started slowly taking the milk and then one morning....BAM...the whole thing was gone.

Re: Moms of 1 year olds
My DD is 13mths and a picky eater. I have been trying to wean her from BF and have managed to cut out most feedings during the day. So she BF's in the morning when she wakes, then usually at 5 and 9pm. She does drink some milk in the sippy but I have to watch her as she spills some! She has never had a bottle so we went straight to the sippy.
For breakfast she eats some irish oatmeal with some baby oatmeal mixed in for the iron..she usually has a banana or pear with this and then picks on toast, bluberries etc.
Lunch can be hummus and pita bread, some more fruit, cheese etc.
Dinner - sweet potatoes, peas, tofu, homemade soup.
For snacks its usually yoghurt - she has a yo baby every day, fruit, raisins.
I need to start making her some dinners and freezing them as I think I fall short on dinner and she doesnt get enough protein.
