moms of 2 young ones--video monitor question
I am trying to figure out what kind of video monitor to get for DD#2. I have a summer infact day and night one for DD and will still be using it when #2 arrives. If I get another one, will it interfere? I was thinking of getting a different one so that I can tell the monitors apart easily but I'm not really sure what to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: moms of 2 young ones--video monitor question
I just bought the second monitor from Buy Buy Baby. I think it was $79.99 and I had the coupon. I wasn't sure either if it was comptable or if there would be a lot of interference but it works great!! I am so relieved that I can just switch back and forth between the two cameras.

I have 2 summer infant handheld monitors. You can buy 2 cameras and use the same handheld device, which is less expensive, but we are often downstairs when they are sleeping and I need to hear them both. I love having 2 - yeah there's a little more static on one but once you find the right place to put it it's fine.

Oh--So you get another "camera" and then use that button on the side to switch back and forth between the two? I didn't even know they did this! TY!!

hmm- so you can't hear them both at the same time? that's not great.

Re: moms of 2 young ones--video monitor question
I bought a second summer infant camera and handheld in anticipation of baby #2. We turned them both on at the same time (different channels) and have had no problems. I want to be able to see both babies at the same time instead of switching channels.

If you use 2 cameras and 1 monitor you have to keep switching between A and B to hear each individual child. I found myself forgetting to switch and when I remembered and switched over to the one I wasn't listening to he or shew would be crying and I'd feel awful because I didn't know how long he or she was up for

Re: moms of 2 young ones--video monitor question
Although you can't see them at the same time and have to switch back and forth it isn't a big deal to me. Even if I didn't have the monitors I would be able to hear the kids no problem. I'm more concerned with hearing/seeing the new baby once she's hear. My other DD will be 21 months and I just would like to check on her so it's more for peace of mind for me.
