Re: Moms of 4-5 months old

Hi Maria,

We start Abby's bedtime routine anywhere from 7:30-8:30 and most nights she is sleeping by 8:30/9pm.

For awhile she slept until 5:30/6am but lately is waking anywhere between 3-4 with an occassional 5am.

BUT, last night she woke up at 3:00- I tried just using her pacifier but she was screaming- I think she was really hungry so I fed her, she downed 4oz and fell right asleep- and didn't wake until 7:30am

ETA: She is formula fed and actually we just started giving her rice cereal too...3 nights Chat Icon and she LOVES it

Re: Moms of 4-5 months old

My twins were born the day before your daughter at 35 weeks. They finally were sleeping through the night b/c they were sleeping in their carseats. We just started transitioning them to their crib. We usually do their last feeding at 10- 10:30 and then they go to sleep. One woke up at 7:15 this morning and the other is not doing well. He woke up every 20 min. starting at 12:35 am until about 3:30 am. Both of my boys are on Elecare formula. They actually started veggies today. Sorry so long but I saw your post on CIO and I am having such a hard time. I feel like I am back to the infant stage b/c my one son is not sleeping. Needed to vent. My doctor said once they are on food reg. we can move their bed time up little by little.

We put DS down by 8pm, sometimes a little earlier. He sleeps to around 4am and wakes to eat, then up at 6am.

Re: Moms of 4-5 months old

My DD, who is 5 months, was routinely going to bed at 9:30 pm and sleeping through to 6am. However, just two days ago I decided to move up her bed time to 8pm since, as the PP said, she has started solids. This transition has been a little difficult but she has been falling asleep before 9pm and sleeping till 6am. I am pretty sure she can sleep more but Ihave to wake her to take to the babysitter. She is formula fed and does not wake up in the middle of the night. On a rare occassion, she will fuss and i will go in and give her the pacifier. This is the onlt time she willtake the pacifier as she pushes it out when she is awake.Chat Icon

Re: Moms of 4-5 months old

HOLY CRAP...... ok i guess I shouldn't complain.

Since Monday I've been working on focusing 100% on Alexa and her sleep because she was sleepig so little it was starting to affect her health and mine ( I currenly have strep ughhh)

Any who...... Read Helathy sleep habits and as per out ped doing a VERY MODIFIED Ferber method. I don't even like to say CIO since we really don't let her cry much.... she is a whiner more than anythign Chat Icon

SO following her sleep cues etc teh past two night she is in bed ASLEEP by 6:30pm- 6:45 pm wakes up at 2-3 am to nurse and sleeps until 8 or 9 am.

We are still working on the napping issue but I was curious to what time everyone else was putting their babies to bed.

Before we started this sleep training I was putting her to bed around 8 and I think she was already over tired.

Ok so I guess we aren't too far off, everyone else is still doing night feedings as well which I figured is still normal for a few more months.

Thanks everyone!!!

Shane gets a bath around 6:30 then he falls asleep around 7:30ish. I'm still nursing throughout the night. He gets up usually 2 times...first time around midnight, then again around 3. Though last night and the night before he only woke up at 3ish...hoping it lasts. Oh, and I nurse him both times he wakes up.

DS goes to bed around 8:30 and he sleeps until 6 or so... He starts playing in his crib and talking to himself and likes to play in there until 6:45 or so, sometmes later... He is formula fed, getting about 8 oz at a time - good luck!

Hoping she starts SSTN soon

Re: Moms of 4-5 months old

DS is a bit of night owl...we usually give a bath around 8/8:30pm and last bottle after that. He falls asleeps around 9:30/10 and then we put him in his crib.

He'll sleep until about 3/4am and then wakes up for just 2 oz. Chat Icon and is back asleep in 15 minutes but we have to put him in the bouncy seat where he'll sleep until around 6 or 7am and then be up for the day.

He's 4 months.
