Moms of 5-6 months old...

I know this has been asked before but what is your feeding schedule for your DC. How much milk, fruit, and veggies are they eating in a day?

Re: Moms of 5-6 months old...

If I take 2 ounces of milk from a 7 oz bottle to mix in with cereal can I still count it as a 7 ounce bottle?

with hannah the oz vary but it is usually like this

7 bottle
930 2 TBSP cereal with 2 oz formula
1130 bottle
330 bottle
530 2 TBSP cereal with 2 oz formula
730-8 bottle
1030 bottle (dream feed)

i count the total amount of oz for the day.

hope that helps!

Re: Moms of 5-6 months old...

Not much.

Bottle (5oz if I'm lucky)
1Tbsp of cereal and bottle (2-3oz)
About 4 more bottles (4-6oz each).

She has cereal just once a day because I don't want it to interfere with the amount of formula she drinks. She usually drinks about 25 oz of formula per day. Ped wants her to drink more. She's on the 10th percentile for wt.

I don't count the formula in the cereal but I know it's about an oz.

Re: Moms of 5-6 months old...

Ava's day is something like this...

6am- 7oz. bottle

9:30am- 2.5tbsp. cereal, container of sweet potatoes

10:30am-5-7oz. bottle depending on her appetite.

2:30pm. 5-7oz. bottle depending on her appetite

5:30pm-2.5tbsp. cereal, container of peas, about 2oz. bottle.

7pm-another 5-7oz. bottle.

The bottle amounts really do vary. The only one she consistently eats 7oz. for is her first of the day. Other than that, it's anywhere from 5-7. She averages about 26oz. a day.

I think I asked this question before! Now Matteo is eating a little more than before, here's kind of his schedule. Varies from day to day depending on how hungry he is:

6:30 am : 7oz. Bottle
8:30 am: cereal w/ fruit mixed in (and formula)
10:30 am: 6-7oz. bottle
12:30 pm: 1/2 or whole jar fruit (stage 2)
2:30 pm: 6-7 oz. bottle
4:30 pm: 1/2 jar veggie (stage 2)
6:30 pm: 6-7 oz. bottle and cereal

Re: Moms of 5-6 months old...

I'm just starting DS on fruits... He has been on cereal since 3 months and has 4 bottles between 8am and 8pm... I am wondering the same thing.

Looking at you ladies childrens' schedules has me confused... I thought he was supposed to get the cereal and fruits/veggies with the bottle...

I'm still confused so don't go by me! Sometimes I give the cereal or fruit with his bottle, sometimes I wait if he doesn't seem like he'll eat it. Just kind of wing it with the actual 'schedule' part, but that's what he usually gets in a day.

Re: Moms of 5-6 months old...

There's no right or wrong way to feed them in terms of giving the bottle WITH the veggies and fruit or in between. It's trial and error. Sometimes, I try to give her water while giving her cereal and veggies, sometimes, if she didn't finish her other bottles, I'll give her some formula, etc. Just depends on the day. But I find that she eats more if I space it out.

I'm trying to space it out as well...So far giving the bottle first is working a little better. I give him 4 ounces then after that he gets 2 more ounces in his cereal and then fruit. So I can say that he got 6 ounces...Right?

Re: Moms of 5-6 months old...

I find it works best not to feed Ella solids when she's too hungry, so she gets a bottle/nursing when she wakes up in the morning, and food after her nap.

We have a very loose schedule

6/7am - 4-5oz bottle
1-2hr nap

8/9am - cereal & fruit/veggie
(washed down with some water)

about an hour later, another bottle (5-6oz)
30min - 1hr nap

afternoon bottle (5-6oz)
1-2hr nap

6/7pm cereal & fruit/veggie
8/9pm bottle & bed (4-5oz)

The amount she drinks in each bottle varies by day. I also nurse her, so I can't be sure exactly how much she's drinking, but she's on the low side of oz, I think.
