Moms of 5 month olds..question...

Does anyone else notice that the attachment thing to "mommy" is starting already?

I dropped my dd off at my moms house tonight so my dh and I could do a food shopping. When I came back, my mom told me she cried the whole time (sooo not like Megan at all!) and nothing she did helped. As soon as I picked her up, she was fine and laughing. I also notice at home, she notices now when I leave the room. I didnt think it started this young. Anyone else?

James looks around for me, and he "calls" for me when I leave the room. But he's ok when I leave him with other people. I work though, so he's used to DH, my sister, mom and MIL watching him. So far he's ok, I hope it stays like that.

That's about when Ava started to develop stranger anxiety. It's gotten better now at 8 months.

I haven't noticed anything yet. But, DH stays home with her all day, while I go to work...I wonder if that will reverse the rolls and she will only want Daddy instead of Mommy?

It's funny you ask that because JT stays home all day with Ava and I thought that she would have separation anxiety from him, but not at all! It's totally with me! She doesn't even look his way when he leaves! They always know their motherChat Icon

Maddie has her moments too. She's usually ok if I'm not around but sometimes when I'm in the room and not holding her she starts to fuss until I pick her up. Then she's all smiles.

He just started it last week and is 5 months today!! Definite separation anxiety...he will be held by someone else for a few minutes and be ok and then sees me across the room and the lip starts trembling...

I have to admit, i kind of like it, lol! Its nice he wants "mommy".

Parker already has started this. It's worse when I'm there and someone else is holding her. She cries and reaches for me. Other than that she will cry when I first leave her, but after a few mins is usually fine.

Yes, indeed. He even freaks out in music class. Started at about 4.5 months, still going strong at 6 months. Hope it ends soon.
