Moms of 6-8 month olds -- Separation Anxiety?
I read that around this time they get separation anxiety. Well, my DS is 7 months and has full blown anxiety and screams and cries if i leave the room or turn my back to him. What the heck? How am I supposed to get ready in the morning? DH leaves before we're even up so I have to do it all on my own. I'm going crazy and running late for work every morning cause he wont let go of me and let me finish getting ready. What do you all do?

Could have written this exact post. DD is 9 months and the last month was AWFUL... Everything you described was my daughter to a T. I couldn't put her down and walk away for a second without her crying... She also was battling a double ear infection at the time, so it was hard because I didn't want to leave her crying if I knew she was in pain, but I couldn't even get ready in the morning. Once I got the all clear that her ears were finally all clear, I began letting her whine/cry when I had to get things done. Letting her whine and only going to her if it becomes a bad cry has helped a little. She is still VERY clingy and needs my attention MUCH more than she used to, but I'm trying different techniques to work on her seperation issues. Its sooo hard

Yes! I bring her in the shower with me-she is still in her infant carseat so I bring that in...today I was lucky and I got to take a shower b/f she woke up...I actually sat her up in her crib instead of laying her down so she could see me while I finished getting ready b/c she woke up as soon as I was done in the shower, but then she fell back and hit her head
It's pretty bad though...when I pick her up from daycare she gets really happy when she see's me but then I take a step behind a wall where they keep the bags of stuff to wash for the day and she screams and cries. I used to visit her everyday at lunch but have been doing it less often now-b/c I feel bad when I leave.
ETA: I do let her cry sometimes too...I just keep talking to her to let her know I am there.

DS is 9 months old and he's starting to go through this now. He screams and cries if I walk out of a room or even if I'm IN the same room but just not constantly playing with or talking to him. If someone else asks to hold him he doesnt want to let go of me. Lately he doesnt even want to be in his stroller - all he wants is for me to hold him and hug him. Its adorable, and I love the newfound hugs and affection from him, but I cant be the only one holding him all the time.
I kinda hope this phase passes quickly....
