Moms of babies 6-7-8 mts and up....
Is it getting more and more impossible to get your baby dressed???
Everytime I have to put a stitch of clothing on Cailen, I have to gear myself up for a full out wrestling match on the floor - and he's so strong!!!!!!
He wriggles and squirms, which I wouldnt mind so much if he also didn't sound like I was killing him in the process - you have to hear him screaming and crying! As soon as I'm done, he's fine! And I'm so gentle putting clothes on him - I know it couldnt possibly hurt!!!
How do you deal with it???

I give DD the tube of Balmex to hold- she goes freaking crazy trying to open it.
It's quite hysterical.
ETA: I am usually sweating by the end of it.... my mom and dad squeal with laughter when they watch b.c I guess I was the same way.

I made the mistake yesterday of dressing for our xmas pics before dressing him because he was napping - so there I am in my sweater dress and stockings, trying not to get an run in my stockings or snot and tears all over my dress!!!

Yes...Lucas is making it a challenge although we are not quite at the wrestling stage yet. I have to confess that I pretty much give him anything to hold onto to keep him quiet.
Now that he is sitting up I have noticed the change. I have to sit him up to take off his shirt to keep him happy. He now likes to lift his arms (or have me do it as the shirt comes off)

I try to keep some toys on his changing table to keep him occupied. But he is trying to turn the entire time!!! I also sing very loud to keep him distracted

It's getting more impossible to do anything.
He is constantly trying to LAUNCH himself out of my arms to grab anything interesting nearby.
I'm in for a world of trouble when this kid can crawl.

it is near impossibe to get Mikayla dressed or changed. I give her a toy which works for about 5 seconds and the rest of the time, I just struggle with her and beg her to stay still...yeah that works

Re: Moms of babies 6-7-8 mts and up....
At almost 9 months...it sounds like I am running a torture chamber out of her bedroom. DH has actually come in a few times while I was doing it. He probably thought I was hanging her upside down by her feet or something. Its ridiculous! It worse when there is a poopie diaper, she goes so crazy I am afraid she is going to get a foot full of poop

We have use(d) a no no toy-balmex, remote, cell phone, my water bottle we also have changing table toys-fav toys or books that they only get when they get changed. so far working like a charm for both my girls. I hardly wrestle :) Distract, distract distract and good luck!

Steven is 12 months and it's the same thing. I reached a point where I dreaded changing diapers and some changings even resulted in crying -- for BOTH of us I've gotten kicked in the face, scrached till the point of bleeding, I accidentally elbowed him in the mouth once. It's terrible. I've gotten very good at changing diaper and dressing while he's standing or playing. But that doesn't work for poopie ones

Re: Moms of babies 6-7-8 mts and up....
I wish I had an answer.. at nearly 14 months, it's only gotten worse for us now that he can get up and RUN away (I too change him /dress him standing up 99% of the time, because any other way he FIGHTS me and screams and it's just not worth it )

Re: Moms of babies 6-7-8 mts and up....
My DD is the same way. The tube of Aquaphor/cellphone distraction only lasts for mere seconds now and unfortunately I can't get her dressed in that amount of time. I'm all out sweating by the time we are done.
