Moms of Belly Sleepers
When did you let your DC sleep on their belly through the night?
Update:
Well my big boy slept in his crib all weekend. He did great and hardly woke up. Last night he didn't wake up at all after we put him on his belly. We have the Angel Care Monitor but I'm still nervous about him being on his belly. Help ease my worries

This week, he is 16 weeks today. ETA: He's been napping on his belly all day long since about 6 weeks.

As soon as she was able to roll onto her belly, I wasn't going to try to stop her. I just started using the sleep sack vs. the swaddle.

Re: Moms of Belly Sleepers
Thanks Ladies! My son has always been a side sleeper but for a while now he wakes himself up with his arms. We have tried the belly a few times and he has done great. I'm just nervous because we want to transition him to the crib this weekend. He is still in the bassinett next to me however I think he is uncomfortable in there.
FYI he is 3.5 mos old.

Re: Moms of Belly Sleepers
I let him through the night as soon as he started rolling over, which was around 4.5 months. He has slept like that ever since, and he is now 7 months.

Re: Moms of Belly Sleepers
At about 3.5 months DS started rolling over at night. I agree with the poster before me... we left him alone since we didn't want to ruin a good sleep either! Now he seems to love sleeping on his tummy!

Re: Moms of Belly Sleepers
DD just started being a belly sleeper about a month ago when she learned to roll over (she's 6.5 months now). I was sooo nervous about it in the beginning too, but that's how she slept, and she sleeps better. I have the Angelcare too, would be even more of a wreck without it. In my experience, it just gets easier when you're more used to it, but of course I still check on her!

Re: Moms of Belly Sleepers
I started my son at about 4 months when I discovered he would nap for hours on me & he would nap for hours if I slid him off me & onto his gymini mat.
My daughter was from birth.

Re: Moms of Belly Sleepers
I'm on the fence to let him sleep on his belly at daycare. He is only there 2x a week. Just started last week and so far his naps have been in the bouncy.
I have to sign a form to allow them to let him sleep on his belly.

Re: Moms of Belly Sleepers
When he put himself on his belly while asleep is when I let him sleep on it. Until then I was too nervous too, he did sleep on his side before that though. I'd say about 6 months he started.

I understand your anxiety about it at daycare, I do. But I'm thinking it may be hard for him to go back & forth between being allowed to and not? Do you think so? It's always worth a shot, that's the thing!

Same for us too. Once DS started rolling over there was no stopping him.

Re: Moms of Belly Sleepers
DS was a side sleeper from the beginning. He actually rolled while still in the hospital. He started to belly sleep at about 4 months, and had good head control, but being the freak that I am I would wake up every hour (from paranoia, not an alarm) to turn his head, even though he was breathing well & there was nothing to obstruct his breathing. About a month ago I let him sleep without messing with him.
