moms of both toddlers & infants check in!
so how are you guys????
josh, my 25 month old still HATES when the baby cries and zach (3 months old) cries ALLLLL the time.
it's been rough. josh cries/whines at the drop of a hat, for NO reason. the terrible 2's are certainly terrible in my house. and he needs so much attention.
i feel guilty b/c my baby gets so litttle mommy face time. he has AWFUL reflux and is freaking out all day. i'm just running between the 2 of them trying to get them both to stop crying, feed them, and try to make them happy. it's crazy!
my poor dh works nights & such long hours. when he's home he's always with our toddler (josh misses him so much when he's not home) and the baby barely spends time with him. especially since i'm always bfing too.
all in all it's hard but we're doing ok. i just wish the little one was feeling better.

Not a mom of a toddler & infant but a BTDT.
I promise you that it will get easier. The first 3 months was always the hardest for me.

Re: moms of both toddlers & infants check in!
We are doing okay in this neck of the woods.
We have Piper, she's 32 months old and Lily, she's 11 weeks old. I am home with them during the day. The biggest struggle for me is the amount of time & dedication it takes to get good naps in with Lily. I have to seclude us away from Piper because she is playing & all the while I am shushing her & rocking Lily to try and help her fall asleep. It could take 5 minutes or it could take 30 minutes. Also I have th mother guilt about being in the house alot. Lily is unpredictable with her naps so it could be a 30 minute nap or a 4 hour nap. I believe strongly in letting children sleep so I won't wake Lily unless I absolutely have to in order to go out somewhere.
I know I am lucky b/c Lily is such a good baby and Piper is pretty tolerant of it all. Piper was a challenging infant so I feel like I was due for an easier baby.

Re: moms of both toddlers & infants check in!
I agree...it does get better! DD #1 is 26 months and DD #2 is 7 months and we are loving it! They both sleep now and actually play together. The baby is cruising around the house and driving her sister crazy, but she tries to be a good sport about it! My older DD is going to camp at her preschool this summer, so that will let me have a little more 1:1 time with the baby. Also, DD#2's reflux basically disappeared at 7 months and we were able to wean her from the medication. My ped said the magic age is 8 months a lot of time, so there is hope!
I wanted to add that we can't wait to add another bundle of fun to our family! We would do it today if we could, but realistically, our babysitting circumstances need us to wait until one goes to Kindergarten to add to our family. So the past 7 months with 2 little ones has really been good for us!

Victoria is 23 months and Julianne is 2 weeks old. For now, things are transitioning well but Julianne has only been home a little over a week right now. I am expecting things to get hairy once DH goes back to work and his ever changing work schedule. I am looking forward to when they are able to play together - then I know I will have survived the scary times

Abigail is 10 months old. She is crawling and just broke her first tooth. She is also starting to pull herself up onto her feet and can stand holding on to a table or couch unassisted. She sleeps through the night and often babbles upon waking up. She continues to have hair that rivals Chewbacca.

Re: moms of both toddlers & infants check in!
Chris is 25 months old and Carlo is 3 months old
My main concern is keeping Carlo safe from Chris. He LOVES his little bro but i have to always be aware of fists and flying cars that he attacks Carlo with.
Thank God Carlo is a good baby since Chris occupies 100% of my attention...."cheerios, tv, babba, momma"--all day long!!!
I do feel bad that I am not bonding with Carlo as much as I did with Chris....but it isnt possible

I am not the Mom of an infant and toddler but my son had reflux. Have you tried eliminating all dairy from your diet?

Re: moms of both toddlers & infants check in!
Well DD#1 just turned 2 years on the 20th - and DD#2 is 5 weeks old. Today is my first day alone with both girls so I'm a bit nervous - since DD#1 is being a typical 2 year old - and DD#2 has reflux and colic. DD#1 is so good with the baby - sometimes TOO into her though - she sits in her bouncer seat, has to kiss the baby about 5000 times a day - and wants to constantly hold her and says Luv Maddie or luv baby, kiss, don't cry - etc. She even follows me around with her baby doll and does exactly what I do with the baby with the doll. However her temper tantrums are out of control and I'm worried about what will happen when she turns into her monkey routine and starts climbing and DD#2 is spitting up and upset from her reflux.
So wish us luck today- I was up all night with the baby who woke every 45 mins last night for feedings and DH slept thru the whole thing

Good luck!!!
I have a 25 mos old and 2 mos old and have had them by myself during the day since week 1. It isn't as hard as I was expecting but not easy either. I have to say the hardest part is handling DS(25 mos-a wild energetic boy who likes to get into trouble/tantrums) while BF. But other than that I now if I have to let DD (2 mos) old cry for a few minutes while I deal with DS it will be ok, DD will not remember and will not hurt her to cry.

Re: moms of both toddlers & infants check in!
Not a mom of both, but B is 8 months old, and is skipping the crawling stage, going right to walking. He just has to get a little more balance. He is already pushing our hands away and wants to take off walking by himself. No teeth yet, but he's been teething since 3 months old, I hope something shows up soon! He is also finally sleeping through the night, although waking up at 5 am is really not fun for us.

Re: moms of both toddlers & infants check in!
Clover is awesome with Paxton (3 months) now. She is still a beast but at 20 months I see it's just her personality. She doesn't display jealousy and anger towards Paxton anymore, thank goodness.
Having 3 is definitely rough at times. I find myself wishing they'd be older already and more independent then I realize it'll happen all too quickly so I need to enjoy it!

These stories have me feeling a bit better...Seems like a lot of work, but you all sound still sane for the most part.
I am a bit terrified to be honest of how I will do it, but I think true life tales of how its going like this ...help...
Continued good luck to you all!

AJ is 19 months and Gianna is 8 months. They are really starting to enjoy each other. They play nice and are always laughing at one another. They are both also on the same nap/schedule which makes things so much easier.
The first few months were difficult but I would do it all over again.

Re: moms of both toddlers & infants check in!
Not sure if 3 is still considered a toddler or not, but I also have an 8 week old (Erin) and some days I just go nuts. Erin has reflux and we have a hard time feeding her. Some days I spend so much time with her that I realize poor Marron hasn't had anything to eat yet. Marron is also spending too much time in front of the TV nowadays. I'm hoping things will get better soon. I don't like Marron to be on "autopilot" so much.
Marron has also gotten incredibly fresh lately. She yells at me, and often seems terribly angry. I keep trying to calm her down and ease her mood but I don't know where it's coming from so it's hard. She loves her little sister and doesn't seem to have any animosity toward her but maybe there is some deep down.

Re: moms of both toddlers & infants check in!
Bryan is 29 months and Carolynn is 8 weeks old (today) (technically, shes 1 week old if you go with the whole adjusted age thing)..
DS LOVES her! When shes awake, I have on a blanket and he'll go sit next to her. When Im feeding her,, he helps me do "Gentle Touches" and helps to burp her. I think including him in everything helps!
He definitley has his moments! His new thing is if he wants my attention, he screams on the top of his lungs! The other day, it got sooo bad, he had his very first time out! I now walk around singing the "Inside Voice...Quiet" song to him (thanks to Yo Gabba Gabba) LOL
All in all, so far,, so good!
I think it also helps that DS goes to "school" and is around kids his age and I try to set up a lot of playdates for him as well.
