Moms of boys...
Ok lately Ant is very aware of his friend. Everytime he is in the bathtub and he sees it floating he grabs it and pulls it...he will do this for about 10 seconds.
Do I just ignore it or try to distract him?
He is 14 months.

at that age i'd ignore it. They have no clue about what's appropriate yet!

And so the lifelong obsession has begun I'd ignore it. My 4 yr old was holding his alot lately and I had to have a talk about inappropriate times to do so but at 14 mths, he doesnt know.

Like the other ladies said ignore it.... Yesterday, Nate was pushing his like it was a button. It was so funny bc DH was taking his clothes off for his bath and he just sat on the bed poking it.

Pretty much the same that I was going to say. Patrick used to say "Look monmy it's growing" I did all I could not to laugh & to explain to him to please stop touching your penis!

Re: Moms of boys...
I think the worst was when I got "Mommy - there is something wrong with my penis. It's really hard & feels funny." I said "I heard it does that sometimes. It's normal - don't worry about it." When he asked why, I said "You should ask Daddy. He knows more about penises because he has one."
I'm soooo good at passing the buck...
eta. I agree with ignorning it until they're older. Than I went with the "It's not polite to touch your privates in public." He figured it out right away "Is that why it's called privates?"

Re: Moms of boys...
My son started doing this a few months back and it was scary at first becuase he pulls so hard that I really thought he was going to hurt himself. But I ignored it or distracted him. Now at one year old, he does it sometimes not all the time like he used to.

Me too
Thankfully DS is only 2 months old and doesn't even know he has hands yet! When I change him though, I do let him know that Daddy will go over everything with him when he gets a little older!

Christopher's getting more and more obscessed with it to the point where he's started ripping his diaper off. He'll be 16 months this week. Like father, like son

LOL. I've already told DH - "you have to make sure to cover XYZ with him when the time comes." I think this is one area daddy is definitely better suited for!!

Re: Moms of boys...
Bryan loves his friend - after the bath he runs around the house naked and grabbing it laughing- I find it funny actually. I think its a natural progression of development.

Re: Moms of boys...
Yes John is very proud of his peepee, he will even proudly yell out PEEPEE and grab it as you change him. He pulls, pinches, grabs and stretches it.
Face it, they are boys, they learn at an early age lol.
He just came to the realization that his father has one too.
