Moms of eczema toddlers
Do u notice that something-like food, irritants make DC break out worse with eczema?
Out of nowhere Gianna has bad eczema on her front and back of her knees, ankles, inner and outer elbow, around her neck and forehead. I only give her a bath 2 times a week still cause of the eczema..
She did have a fever the last 2 days and poor baby is getting 4 molars at one time with her incisors not too far behind.
Any insight?

Re: Moms of eczema toddlers
I notice it with DS but he will get patches on his face and various spots on this body. I am not really sure what triggers it though. I think exczema is a version of an allergic reaction. My old ped thought it was the pet dandur since we do have a dog. Poor DD has it pretty bad in the same spots Gianna has. My ped now said to put cortizone cream then on top aquaphore but it only helps while I continue once I stop it starts up again and I don't like to put cortizone on her that much. I think I am gonna bring her a derm. to see what they can give me.

My son had it around his mouth for a long time. I used to put cortizone cream and aquaphore on it but it never really healped that much. I finally took him to a ped. dermatologist and they gave me some specail cream. It went away pretty much right away and has never came back again.

Re: Moms of eczema toddlers
DD has bad eczema which we found out is enviormental related. She is allergic to dust and some dog hair (not all).
If you really want to pinpoint the allergen bring your DC to a pediatric allergists so they could test. Always keep her skin moist-use only creams not lotions. We use all Aveeno on DD- the other soaps and lotions have too much purfume.
DD's allergist told us that wool is irritating to those with eczema.

Re: Moms of eczema toddlers
My DS had horrible eczema that was caused by a milk allergy. When I was BFing he had it really bad. I tried to eliminate dairy from my diet, but I know I was still getting small amounts of it. As soon as he switched to all formula and I was able to really control the dairy in his diet the eczema completely went away and we haven't had a problem since. I used to have to moisturize him a few times a day and use a steroid cream just to control the eczema, but now his skin isn't even dry at all.
