Re: Moms of Girls - Clothing Q
Nope. I wouldn't shop in the mens section for myself so why would I shop in the boys section for my daughter? I'm into things obnoxiously pink and overboard girly so I am probably the wrong person to ask. One of my DD's didn't have much hair for a long time and that child never left the house with a big old pink headband/bow on her head lol

Moms of Girls - Clothing Q
I have in the past if it was very specific to her. SHe went through a phase where she LOVED fox's. They had an adorable waffle weave long sleeve shirt I bought her and she was over the moon. She wore it at home though. My dd is 4 now and 100% girl. SHe only wants dresses and long night gowns. I buy from a lot of places so I just get what I like or she likes and we don't have to suffer the bubble gum clothes of all frills and pink. Right now she is really into red so she does have a few red shirts from the boys section that she wears with boots and leggings. It all just depends. I do shop the mens section so to me it's more about what is comfy, what you like, and what she'll wear!
Her winter coat, snow pants, and boots are navy. Those things are not cheap and she has 2 younger brothers. I'm all about getting value. Her mittens, scarf, and hat are pink so it works!

Re: Moms of Girls - Clothing Q
I had my girls in jeans and grey shirts with pink birds. A lady walked by dnd said to her husband "oh look at the little boys". I guess she didn't see the pink. Dum dum. So no I wouldn't put boy clothes on them. To each their own but I don't want them being mistaken for boys.

Re: Moms of Girls - Clothing Q
I haven't even thought to do this. However, I suppose if I was looking for a specific character, and they only had it in a boys tee, I'd consider it as long as it wasn't TOO boyish.
But I shop mostly online for DD and you can basically find anything online, so I'd probably search for a girl version of the shirt I wanted.

I never had much of an issue finding a mix of girly and more neutral items with just girls clothing. I do a lot of my shopping online though. DD's wardrobe is about 50/50. Some super girly stuff and some not. I always have luck at Old Navy with neutral leggings. I also was able to find regular denim shorts on Gymboree.com. I agree that boys clothing is boxier, bigger and doesn't fit her properly.
I do by black snow pants and snow boots this way DS can use them too. Those are the only items I intentionally get gender neutral.

Moms of Girls - Clothing Q
I bought my sons first christmas pajamas from the girls section, lol. They were red and white striped Jammie's with Santa on the tush. The boys side only had reindeer and I wanted Santa.
Honestly, if you just want gray pants, why not. It's not like it matters or anyone will know. A pink shirt and gray or navy pants will likely still get the point across she's a girl without an explosion of polka dots and color

This is gonna happen no matter what. I've had my son in blue pants with a blue shirt and blue sneakers and people still call him a cute little girl. He has curly blond hair and even though it's short, it apparently looks girly. People don't pay much attention.

No, I have never purchased clothes from the boy side of the store for my DD. I shop mostly at Carter's, Target and Children's Place and I find plenty of variety in colors.

Yup. I was at the bank and an older guy peeked into the stroller and said "So cute, is it a boy or girl?" Mind you, DD was wrapped up in a huge pink blanket.
