Moms of kids over 2...confirm or deny the following statement...
Age 3 is worse than age 2.
So, Katherine's been an all-out terror recently and I've been venting to several BTDT mommy friends...all of whom have told me, "3 is worse than 2!" Why does no one tell you these things ahead of time?!? Just when I was thinking there were only 8 short months left of sheer hell...BAM: 20 months!!
So, true or not?...be honest!

Re: Moms of kids over 2...confirm or deny the following statement...
I have always agreed with this statement...I think its b/c:
At 2 they start wanting to "do it myself" or "me do it" BUT they are still willing to except your help..Truth is they are still to young to do it themselves..
At 3 its still the "I do it myself" BUT they are no longer willing to allow you to help them...Which causes lots of temper tantrums..They are still to young to do it themselves...
By 4 its...."Look Mommy, I did it myself.." And by golly they did!!!
I hope this makes sense..

DD is only 2 so I don't know for sure... but another mommy told me that a 2 year old will just say no - A 3 year old will say no with a reason why.

Re: Moms of kids over 2...confirm or deny the following statement...
yup the beginning of 3 was what people described as the terrible 2's. Two was cake to the beginning of 3. Now that she is nearly 4 things are great. She's very independant and still tries to push and see her limits but it's easier to work with now at this age.
good luck!

Ugh. And I've been thanking God that 2 was so easy. I guess DH and I have something to look forward to.

Re: Moms of kids over 2...confirm or deny the following statement...
you just have to try and keep in mind that they just dont really know how to express what theyre feeling or what they want... thats why they throw the fits usually... its hard to do it at the moment, believe me ive been there.. but just keep reminding yourself that they dont know any other way to get their points across... the moments that they are NOT throwing fits.. when theyre hugging you and giving you kisses and telling you that they love you will have you forgetting all about the fits though.. i promise

Thanks! I try to think that way because being sympathetic is better than being homicidal! You're totally right!

2 was "NO!" 3 was "NO, I don't want to eat my dinner, it's yucky!" 4 is "You said if I eat my peas, I can have dessert. I ate two peas. Can I have dessert now?"

Oh god, this post is making me tear up in fear for what's to come. Alex is the most stubborn little monkey on the planet, and has a temper tantrum at least 2-3 times a day because, as she exclaims, "ME DO IT".
Great, some fun to look forward to in my future
