Re: moms of picky or slow eaters...
Sounds familiar. What we do is a small amount of food for her to feed herself & a separate bowl for me to spoon feed DD quicker foods. We do a lot of soups for example. So I'll have a bowl of thickly pureed chicken & veggie soup to spoon feed her and she'll have crackers on her tray to self-feed. If I give her pasta, she'll have a very small bowl to feed herself from while I have a mushed up bowl to get more in her. I feed her yogurt, while she'll self-feed some animal crackers & cut up soft fruit. Of course, this isn't the case for every meal but at least 2 meals a day are quicker b/c of this tactic.

I let him sit there forever...first at the table with me, then I move his highchair into the living room. The kid can munch on a piece of cheese for 45 minutes
