Moms of same gender children... (dressing for holidays)
Do you put them in the same outfit for holidays? I never thought I'd do this, but now that I have another little boy, I'm so tempted to match them for Thanksgiving or Christmas. DH says I get to do it once I might just do it for Thanksgiving to get it out of my system and then coordinate them going forward. My poor boys

Re: Moms of same gender children... (dressing for holidays)
I either match or coodinate for the holidays or any special occasion. For example fo my Dd's baptism my other girls wore the same colors but totally different outfits. I do this b/c it looks better in pictures.

Re: Moms of same gender children... (dressing for holidays)
Last year for Christmas day, they wore the same exact dress. Otherwise, in the past I've done the same dress, different colors or something like that. I love matching them!!

Re: Moms of same gender children... (dressing for holidays)
I usually try to stick with clothes that coordinate...I think it is a bit easier because I have 2 girls though...one will wear a skirt and sweater and the other wears the dress that matches the skirt...this year they are wearing dresses that have the same plaid but are designed a bit differently (infant style vs. toddler style).

I always do. I'm pretty sure I can't get away with it much longer but I am going to do it until they complain! My brother always makes fun of me for it!

Re: Moms of same gender children... (dressing for holidays)
I am 3 years older than my sister and I hated dressing the same bc she was younger than me. I swore that I would never do it if I had girls - well that went out the window They look so cute. And I have a hard time deciding on clothes as it is so it makes my decisions easier. For Thanksgiving they are both wearing polka dot dresses - the older one in a brown base and the younger in a cream base. For Christmas they are wearing the same dresses. I will stop when they get a little older.

Re: Moms of same gender children... (dressing for holidays)
This year is the first year they were in matching outfits (ok well last year was the first year that I had 2 lol). Last year they wore the same colors but one wear a (dreaded) sweater vest and the other a zip up cardigan
Here is a proof from Kiddie Kandids

This is how I will do it once little man is here. And thanks to Diana I now use the term 'matcy-matchy' quite often.

I do. I love it. Sometimes it is hard to get an exact match.. but it's a similar theme. Here's some examples of my matchy matchy tendencies throughout the years:
And it's not just for Christmas in our house!

Re: Moms of same gender children... (dressing for holidays)
I think its cute and I am dressing them the same this Christmas. But I did ask DS#1 what he wanted to do, and would have dressed them differently if he wanted to.

Re: Moms of same gender children... (dressing for holidays)
I'm dressing them the same for Christmas. Not for Thanksgiving though, but only b/c the baby got a dress as a gift that I'm going to use, and instead of trying to find something coordinating for Marron, I'm just going with something totally different.
I also have a few matching and coordinating outfits for them just for everyday. I love it!

Same here...my boys will be 2yrs apart, so I think it will be hard to get the exact same outfit, so I will coordinate somehow!

Re: Moms of same gender children... (dressing for holidays)
I think it's cute to coordinate, but not match exactly -
My cousin's boys (8 and 6 now) always corodinate somehow - But Kyle loves to look like he stepped out of the Brooks Bros. catalog and Shane would die before he wore a tie .......
When they were really small they matched, but now that they are their own little men, w/ their own opinions, she tries to get them to coordinate somehow ........
