Moms of Summer Babies
I'm due in June, and I have a question for the BTDTs!! Did you get one of the Halo sleepsacks to use while the baby was small? I know they make cotton ones which are more lightweight than the thicker ones, but I didn't know if you needed it. We do have central air in the house, but won't keep it too cold.
Also, what's the deal with swaddling a summer baby?
THANKS

Re: Moms of Summer Babies
My daughter was born in June as well, and the doctor told us to NOT swaddle her because her body needed to learn to regulate it's temperature. I would definitely opt for the cotton sleepsack.

Re: Moms of Summer Babies
My daughter was born in August. I, too, have central air. I swaddled her for the first couple of months so I would not have used a halo sleep sack. Even now, I still use the swaddle me's, I just swaddle her with her arms out.

Re: Moms of Summer Babies
Hmm, so if I swaddle her, I should probably use something lightweight, like cotton, right?
I'm sure I'll be discussing this with the ped. after she's born, but I want to have some supplies on hand at home to come home to.

Re: Moms of Summer Babies
If you have AC you'll want them to be warm, and if they like to be swaddled it may help w/sleeping. The sleep sack is looser but will also keep them warm. Depends what your baby likes!

Me too! DD was born end of June, so we swaddle for 3-4 months.

Re: Moms of Summer Babies
Thanks so much ladies!! Guess I'll just register for a bunch of cotton receiving blankets and swaddler her in the beginning. May get a swaddle me too then, and the Sleep Sack, and see what works best for her.
THANK YOU!

Re: Moms of Summer Babies
I swaddled DS, sometimes with two cotton blankets DS was born the end of July - we have Central Air I moved on to a sleep sack at about 2 months because DS would kick out of the swaddle
