Moms of toddler boys

What are you doing as far as sandals for your little one?

I took DS for new shoes about a week or so ago...

I bought a pair of sneakers and a pair of shoes...

I passed on sandals because I just cant see how its comfortable to play in them (at the park and stuff w/ the rocks, woodchips etc...) and since the shoes are $$$ I wanted to get something he can always wear!

Now Im thinking I shouldve got sandals too- but I DO NOT want to spend alot of money since he will not be using them often...

I thought about these from darling shoes but Im not sure... Where did everyone get theirs or are the skipping sandals all together?

I plan on getting brown sandels from Stride rite. I will only get them at the outlet so they are cheaper. I should have bought them this week while we were in NC but I thought oh we have a few months until sandel time. Apparently I was not thinking that day.

Re: Moms of toddler boys

Maybe Ill try the outlet...

I just spent over $100 in shoes- so I really do want to pay full price for occasional use sandals!

Jack has a pair of mickey mouse crocs that he wears for the beach, playground, pool... etc..
They are awesome because they get great traction and they can be wash and wear and dry super fast. He loves them. They are about 25 bucks.

Re: Moms of toddler boys

As much as I am not a fan of character shoes, Jack said "Please Mommy....Diego shoes" at Target, so I caved and bought him a $10 pair.

They are comfy and he can put them on and off by himself. They are well made since they are made by a division of Buster Brown shoes.

I picked up a pair for Ryan from Target. I basically got them for him to wear when we are running out quick so I didn't want to spend alot of money.

Re: Moms of toddler boys

I am getting Jacob a pair of Keen sandals ( close toe sandals).. I think they are the best for going to camp so he can wear them in the sprinklers as well as play in them...

They are expensive but so are Stride rites and my friends swear by them...

Re: Moms of toddler boys

We picked up a pair for our little one at Target since he will only wear them occassionally. I got them because when we take him to the playground in the summer, the sprinklers are on...this way I don't have to worry about him getting his shoes wet.

We got the Elmo sandals at Target. Jesse saw them and just had to have them. I didn't want to spend a lot because he'll grow out of them and/or ruin them quickly. They'll just be for running out quickly - errands, stroller rides, etc.

Re: Moms of toddler boys

I got these for John last year. They held up really well with all types of abuse that a toddler dishes out (park, beach, running etc). I'll definately be getting another pair for him this year

My DS lives in sandals all summer. I got his 3 pairs this year - two in brown (one is closed toe) and one in Navy. I got the navy ones real cheap in Target. and the brown ones - I got one pair of Osh Kosh from Kohl's and the other is Stride Rite.

I get DS sandals every year, I see what you're saying about the woodchips etc. but its never been a problem.
I think its more comfy than being hot in socks and sneakers. And easy on/off for getting out the door and in and out of pool, etc.

So I have gotten him the closed toe fisherman sandals from Stride Rite in the past (like the ones above) and LOVE them, I like how you can dress them up or down.
This year I got him a pair of Keen Newport H2 -he already got to wear them last week in Florida and he loves them. They are waterproof too, so I am not going to buy water shoes.

I also got him a pair of sneakers too. But he will mainly wear sandals every day during the summer.

Kev wore Teva like sandals last year so I bought him 2 pairs this year (one Stride Rtie and the other Timberland). I buy them on Shoebuy.com when I have discount codes. He also has a pair of sneakers (needs another though) and a pair of brown leather dressier sandals.
