I can't believe I got by so long without asking this question.
How do you shower?

Re: Moms of toddlers
at nap time...which is around lunchtime.
The past few days she's been sleeping in, so if I'm up I shower which allows me tp nap when she naps

Re: Moms of toddlers
When she was younger (20 months) I'd bring her in the shower with me. When I was done, I'd make a bath for her and let her play with her toys. Then I'd blow dry my hair and do my make up. Get her out of the bath and dressed. Now that she's almost three, I leave the bathroom door open and she watches TV and comes by to say hi every so often.

I leave the door open. They come see me and if they are quiet for more than a minute or two i call them in to me.

Re: Moms of toddlers
DD will still sit in a chair during my shower then she watches TV while I blow dry and get dressed. I do this right after she wakes up so she's in a good mood. She drinks her milk, plays and chills.

Re: Moms of toddlers
I take Julia into the bathroom with me, I just bring some books in or some crayons and a coloring book and she just sits and waits for me to be done.

Re: Moms of toddlers
It's the only time he gets to watch TV! I usually shower mid-morning, and I turn the TV on and leave the door to the bathroom open.

Re: Moms of toddlers
I put DD in our room (old house in the bathroom) and close the door. She gets into my drawers and the laundry basket even if I bring toys in but it's the only way to do it. After I shower I clean up the mess she made. It was easier in our other house because there was less for her to get into but this house has a master suite so there is no door on the bathroom just the toilet area.

same here... I usually set them up with something to play with that I know will keep them busy or I put something on TV for them... the baby goes in the swing outside the bathroom door

Re: Moms of toddlers
Before she wakes up or during her morning nap. I wish she would sit in the bathroom for me but she has an affinity for the toilet bowl flusher

I put Molly down for her morning nap and Jack is good about playing with his trains or he watches TV.

Re: Moms of toddlers
Usually when DH is home. He has a weird schedule- so he is around in the morning. If not, I just take one during her nap or at night.

I just let Noah wander around upstairs, its pretty child safe and he usually just stands at the side of the bathtub looking at me and laughing when I splash him!

Re: Moms of toddlers
DW will often take a shower when I come home from work. Otherwise, when it was just DS, she would leave him in the crib (either before he woke up, during a nap, or even while he was awake). She had the monitor with her, so he couldn't get into trouble, and if he started crying too much, she could get him. She does something similar with DD and DS now. DS is 4, so he can hang out without complete supervision (he can't leave the house, or the floor he's on, but he doesn't need to be watched constantly). DD stays in the crib for a little while.
If there's a will, there's a way.....

Re: Moms of toddlers
I wake up before my son - my DH thinks I am nuts but it is my best bet. If not, it is no shower or a very, very fast rinse while he sits and watches tv in my bedroom (I shower in the master bath with door open). He is not a kid who sits in one place very long and tv doesn't keep him occupiedso I can't leave him too long where I can't get to him fast cause god knows what he'd get into.

Re: Moms of toddlers
Ryan plays in his pack and play with his toys which is right outside the bathroom. I leave the door open so I can hear him. Then he watches me as I blow dry my hair, get ready, etc.

Re: Moms of toddlers
At night when they're asleep or I used the TV. Serious babyproofing helps tremendously.
