moms that weaned dc off reflux meds at over 12 months of age

How did you do it?

We brought Jacen to the GI Specialist in stonybrook 2 months ago. She wanted us to try to wean him off the zantac by giving him maalox for the am dose instead of the zantac. Then go ahead and give his night time dose of zantac as usual.

Ok well we put it off for some time... jacen was sick, then sick again, not sleeping well, etc etc and we didn't want to mess him up anymore than he already is.

So today is day 8 of giving the maalox in the a.m. and he seems to be doing fine with it. I don't see/hear any of the old symptoms he had.

So now what? Dr. Chawla never told me what the next step was after that. I called her office but she's out on vacation until tomorrow and somehow i doubt i'll hear from her then. So i thought i'd ask the BTDT moms first.
