Moms who exclusively pump
How many times a day do you pump, and how do you fit it into the day? I am having such a hard time getting in more than 3 sessions per day. I pump as soon as I get up, then I am busy doing stuff all day and I usually get a session in in the late afternoon, then I pump right before I go to bed. It usually works out to be about every 7-9 hours. I know that if I keep this up that I'm going to lose my supply, but I just can't seem to time it right to do it every 6 hours like I used to.
What makes it worse (I think) is that DH is out of work right now (on worker's comp) so he can take the baby for me if I need to pump, but he usually wants to go out and do stuff during the day, so I guess that's why I can't get in as many sessions as I should. I don't know which would be better -- to have him here or back to work.

Re: Moms who exclusively pump
Just wanted to let you know that my LC said that thats the schedule that women who pump for extended periods of time sort of fall into.
Thats just what I do, pump at like 9, then again at 5 and again at 11.

When you went to this schedule, did your supply diminish?

I pumped every three hours in the beginning and then spread it out to every four hours, but I had a horribly low supply and didn't want to lose it. I think if you are still getting the same milk each time though you should be fine.

Re: Moms who exclusively pump
I only pump twice a day now!
I've been getting about 12-13oz each time.
My milk supply used to be really low and I was pumping like every 3-4 hours. Wht increazed my milk supply (finally) was my clogged milk ducts. I was getting them a lot within these 2 weeks and all I was doing was pumping. One puming session took me 4 hours! I guess all that work increased my supply.

No, it was very steady for around 6 months. Now at 6.5 months, its starting to diminish, which, to be honest, is okay by me because I am wanting to stop anyway.
