Moms who pump
What do you use to store your milk in the freezer? I was using bags that say they can be used to freeze milk, and I recently read that milk should not be stored in bags because the antibodies adhere to the bag and then the baby doesn't get them. The book (Baby Bargains I think) said that milk should be stored in the freezer in hard plastic bottles. So, I went out and bought a bunch of Evenflo bottles, but they are going to run out soon, and I don't want to keep buying more and more bottles to freeze my milk.
I spoke to a lactation consultant yesterday and she sold me these "Mothers Milk" bags that she says have been tested and they are safe to freeze milk in. So, if they are, shouldn't any bags that say they can be used to freeze milk be just as good?
I'm just wondering what everybody else does and if anybody else has heard this about the bags.
p/s - I'm also running out of room in my freezer. I just told DH that we need to buy a freezer for the garage so I have somewhere to store all this milk.

Re: Moms who pump
I used the Lansinoh storage bags and they worked great. They are pre-sterilized and have a double ziplock closure. I could lay them down in the freezer and stack them up so it didnt take up too much space. I got them from target or drugstore.com. There is another brand, gerber I think that is good as well. I did not like the medela ones, there were a huge pain to close and store.

Re: Moms who pump
I used these bags and I found that they leaked alot while defrosting the milk. I don't know if they got punctured in the freezer or what, but I would suggest using them and then putting them into a zip lock baggy to keep them safe!

Re: Moms who pump
im on my second, and I have only used ziplock freezer bags to freeze my milk. About 1/10 leak a little when I am defrosting, but I just check them and if I see them leaking transfer to another bag to defrost. I also put them flat to freeze, so that you stack them up and they take very little room.
