Mom's who had long labor???
Did you have the same doctor the entire time - or did they switch?

Same doc - as far as I knew with my doc he wasn't allowed to leave the hospital unti I gave birth!

mine stayed with me and I went through a whole shift of nurses.
Although one nurse and one anestesiologist stayed with me past their shift to see the second baby be born who was 2 hours later

My doctors switched. I delivered at Stonybrook and the practice I use are the attending doctors. I got whatever doctor was on duty from the practice.

My doctor was suppose to switch but since I was pushing already she stayed to finish the job. I heard the other doctor waiting in the hallway to take over.

i started with one doctor, switched to another one who delivered DS, and then right after DS was born my original doctor was back for her next shift and came to check on me. my ob/gyn practice always has a dr on staff at the hospital so i knew it would always be one of the doctors from my group.

I don't consider the labor a long one (Total hospital time was 6 hours.).They switched twice. I saw one doctor for a few hours, another doctor & then the original came back.

I had scheduled inductions, so my OB could deliver my boys, she was there for about 16 hours of my 21+ hours w/ #1 and 12 hours for my 16+ hours w/ #2. She delivered them both.

My doc didn't arrive until i was pushing already for 2.5 hours, i guess here in CT, it's common for the L&D nurses to do everything except deliver the baby.
the nurses there are on 12 hour shifts so after i gave birth, i had new nurses.

the doctor came at the end so she never changed. The nurse who was with me since the beginning- stayed over her shift when I had to end up with a c-section and was there.

My OB is a sole practioner, so once he got to the hospital he stayed, but before he got there I had several different nurses and residents.

Same doc, different nurses. There were actually 2 of the doctors from my practice there so they both came to see me.
