Moms who have recently gone back to work...
What are you finding to be the hardest part of all of it???
For me, its losing that fire in my belly that I used to have for my job. I used to be so passionate about what I do and the people I work with, and now I just feel "eh" about the whole thing. I am really enjoying working and being out of the house...its that lack of passion that is killing me!!!

I can relate to that- although I am not sure if it is b/c I now have a baby or if I feel that I am grossly underpaid and therefore have become resentful...
Right now- the hardest thing is getting out of the house- I feel like I am ALWAYS forgetting something.

Re: Moms who have recently gone back to work...
The hardest part for me is being away from my baby for 10 hours a day.
I really do like my job and my bosses, but I wish I could work 4 days a week or even just leave at 4 and be home by 5.

Re: Moms who have recently gone back to work...
The hardest thing for me is justifying "extra" expenses. I feel like I am only working to keep up with our pre-child habits (such as dining out, ordering in, splurging on a gift for DS or DH rather than shopping more frugally, etc). Now, mind you, I work on Wall Street. so my paycheck is certainly going towards more than these things but a small part of me feels like if we were to cut all this out and I was to stop working tomorrow, could we still pay the mortgage without my paycheck? Heck, people live on a lot less than we make but I just know we would have to adjust our lifestyle drastically. I took off last week and I absolutely LOVED being with DS 24 hours a day. He is 7 months old right now and he is just SOOOO much fun To be honest though, with all this said, I am not sure I have it in me to be a SAHM I think I need all the adult interaction at work to make me a better mom. It almost makes me appreciate the time I have with DS that much more.

Re: Moms who have recently gone back to work...
I would say I too have an "eh" feeling about work now. I used to be so on top of everything at work, know patient's names and what therapies they were on, and for what. Now when I go in on Thursday night, I can't even remember who I worked with the week before!! It's like as soon as I am home with DD, in "Mommy Mode" I don't even think about work again until it is time to go back the following week (I have 4 days off). I guess that's good for DD though -- it is my JOB after all, not my life!

Re: Moms who have recently gone back to work...
Its definitely a combination of wanting to be home with my baby and having that "eh" feeling now. And as I mentioned in my other post feeling like a single mom. Having to do it all alone (work FT and take care of baby).
I just got a promotion and normally I'd be on top of the world, instead I'm feeling resentment of all the additional pressure being put on me at I time I don't need or want it.
eta: a perfect world for me right now would be to work PT in a not so stressful environment and still be able to pay the bills

Re: Moms who have recently gone back to work...
for me its b/c i am not home with the baby. i used to love my job but the whole time i am here i am thinking about a million things i could be doing instead. i am mostly "eh" b/c we have been extremely slow in my office and that kills me b/c i could be home actually doing something. (not that i dont love sitting here on LIF all day )
