I got Dr. Browns and Born Free. I heard Dr. Browns was a pain in the neck so I picked up some Born free just in case.

I registered for Born Free Glass bottles and I plan to breast feed. HOwever, at some point I do plan to pump, so I figured i would need the bottles.
And at some point I will no longer BF, so then I will need the bottles.

If you're planning on going back to work or being away from the baby, it's a good idea to have bottles. I've been using the Avent ones although I don't really like them. I feel it's hard to get the cap on right the first time and I always have to turn it over to make sure it's on correctly. At least one of the bottles that I prepare for daycare each day leaks the first time I close the top.

My son would only take the regular Dr. Brown's (not the wide neck).
I am going to try the glass Dr Brown's and I have a few free Platex nurser's that I will try also.

Re: Moms who plan on BF..... did you add to your registry....

My plan is to successfully exclusively breastfeed, needing bottles only for medical reasons or should we decide to have DH do a feeding. That being said, I do like to be prepared so plan to have a few on hand just in case. As I'm sure you've read or heard, babies do not always take to any bottle so from my tips and advice received, I did not go all out on one bottle.

I have the 5oz. size in the following...

1 Born Free BPA free plastic that was a free gift from BRU baby registry.

1 Glass Evenflo from my mom that was our original bottles. Got new caps and nipples.

Registered for a 2 pack of Nuby BPA Free Natural Touch (which have a nice wide nipple recommended for breastfeeding babies.

And I semi anticipate getting a bottle or two at my shower from experienced mommies wanting to share their favorite.

Bottles are trial and error and personal experience and preference. Your best bet is to register for 1 of your top choices and go from there. Without a doubt, you or someone will be running out to buy more/different bottles once you get started so I wouldn't go overboard on the prenatal bottle collecting.

Good luck!
