I don't know if this helps, but I bought DD Dr. Brown's 2 weeks ago, and I just bought her one Born Free, so I will let you know if I see a difference at all.

ETS: The one difference, is that you don't have the inner tubing, so u don't have to use the pipe cleaner (that's what I call it anyway) to wash the system.

From what I can tell it looks like the Born Free is closer to the Avent system.

Re: Moms who switched from Dr Brown's to Born Free

I just switched to Born Free from Dr Brown's and the main difference is that I save a lot more time on cleaning now. Born Free's are so much easier to clean. I have not noticed a change in the amount of gas that DD has. That was my main concern, I was worried she would get gassy on the new bottles but she has been fine. Also, I wasn't heating my BM in the Dr. Brown's because I was afraid of BPA so now that I use the Born Free's I am able to heat my milk and she eats so much faster and finishes her bottles.

I still hate cleaning them but when Ii tried to switch last time they hated them and I didn't want to waste anymore money looking for that magical bottle.

Stef... she took to the nipple like a charm, and def no more gas than b4. In fact... it took me a little while to get the burp out of her, but eventually it came.

Go for it!

I got the glass one... they didn't have any of the plastic ones left, but my friend has the plastic ones, and her daughter is all good with them too!

I love the Born Free. Very little gas at all. I used Dr. Brown's for my older daughter and loved them but I didn't want to use the glass for my newborn and the BPA free wasn't out yet. I originally was going to switch back to Dr. Browns but I changed my mind. She's doing so well on them and they are easier to clean.
