moms who use breast pump??
i been using the breast pump alot now, and my boobs are killing me, has this happened to you? I went to Babiesrus and bought bigger shields but they still kill me, any ideas? maybe i should of went smaller?

Are you using a hospital grade? If so, try to use a lower suction power. I would say the same for an electrical pump too.

Regarding the shields- look on medela's site. I remember reading about how to determine if you have the correct size.
I also don't have the machine all the way up. Try lowering the suction and the speed.

ITA, you're probably pumping too hard. It took me a good month to work up to the highest setting!

Also the settings totally depends on the user. I used my pump for about 1-1/2 years and never used the highest setting. I had both dials pretty much in the middle the whole time.-- Just so that the OP doesn't think that she necessarily ever has to go all the way up. It really depends.

I agree. I pumped for nearly a year and kept the setting about halfway.

So far I am pumping in the middle. It hurt for a bit but after a while you get used to it. I do well with the middle settings and get enough milk this way.

i would turn down the intensity and see if that helps. otherwise, i might try a bigger shield.

i was going to say maybe its the speed.. bring it lower and then adjust to a faster speed as you feel better
i use the same pump, and actually like it better sometimes than BF...
