moms who use or have used Mylicon (or any brand) gas drops
does it matter when you give it to the baby. I give her the drops before each feeding, should I be putting them in the bottle or giving them after the bottle? Just want to make sure I'm doing it right.

Do you give them all the time? Does she need them? I only gave them to my kids when they needed them.

I used to give it after a few ounces so they had something in their tummys, and then use the bottle as a chaser.

yes I do give them before every bottle. She is a VERY gassy baby, even with the drops she cries for almost an hour after eating. I pretty much have to put her on her belly and pat/rub her for an hour after eating...you should hear all the burps and farts that come out of this little baby. I feel so bad, she goes to the ped on Friday I'm going to ask if maybe a different formula will help.
is it bad to give her with every bottlre?

We used them in every bottle. The doctor told us that they work best with being consistent. We found that putting it directly in the bottle worked best for us.

Nope not bad using it all the time. I would do it before the bottle as well (I EBF so Im not familiar with formula and gas)

I changed Steven's formula to Enfamil Gentlease because he was so fussy. He didn't scream and cry, he just fussed for quite some time after he ate. When I told the pedi, she said that I did the right thing.
Now, he still gets gassy once in a while. Literally, once every few days. When that is the case, I give them to him while he is fussing and he stops a few minutes later.

do yyou have to shake the bottle? i use dr browns and i think i read somewhere not to shake those bottles. right now i shoot them right them right into her mouth, she seems to like them.

I wouldn't say we shook the bottle that can make bubbles and kind of defeated the purpose because if you put the drops in after the formula is in there and there are any bubbles you will see them come down quick. We just kind of swished once I guess.

we had a few weekends or even days in a row where samantha needed them at almost every feeding and our ped said it was ok.....he also recommended before feedings and it did work better....now she has almost outgrown the need for them (knock on wood!)

We tried the mylicon drops in every bottle and it did nothing for us. The ped wound up changing her formula to Enfamil Pro-Sobee, which is a soy formual...and within 2 days, we had a completely different happy baby!

I shack the bottles and DS never had a gas problem. Have you discused with pediatricia? Maybe changing the formula to a Soy Based might help but talk to Dr. before making any changes.

They say it is best to give it all the time -- at each feeding. I didn't do this though, I waited until she needed them. I think this was as error on my part. DD was very gassy and everybody told me that I had to be more diligent about giving her the drops every time she ate.

I tried to put it in the bottle a few times but then I realized he wasnt getting right dosage to help him if he didnt finish his bottle so I just gave it before his bottle. I didnt give it all time but in the begining when I switched from BF to FF and when I had only powder.
