Moms who used a traditional cradle?

SIL wanted this one, so I ordered it for her for her shower.

Here's the description: "Gently rock baby in this safe and secure cradle. Includes 1" waterproof vinyl pad and safety strap. Brass stops allow cradle to be locked in place."

So do you need a cradle mattress for it? Or do you just put the sheet directly onto this (and since it says waterproof vinyl pad, she wouldn't need a separate pad then, huh?)

I used a PNP bassinet, so I have no idea.

Thanks!

Doesn't come with that bedding, I got her a separate set w/a bumper & sheet.

I had a cradle and you didn't need a seperate mattress. I loved the cradle. My SIL is going to use it next. Great gift!

Thanks ladies. So she'll just use the 1" pad it comes with, and put the sheet right over it? The cradle bedding came with a sheet, but I'm going to buy her an extra one too.

Yes, that is all you need. I also used a sheet saver
