Moms who work outside the home...
How do you handle your day when DC won't sleep the night prior? Jeremy has always been a great sleeper (11:00 PM - 5:00 AM when I dream feed then wakes up at 8!) Last night I had a hard time putting him down (took almost an hour ) then he was up from 2:00 AM - 3:30 AM! When my alarm went off at 4:30 I was ready to throw it out the window. I am still nursing so there really isn't a whole lot H (not even DH since I am upset with him ) can do in the middle of the night. I have always put him to bed swaddled. When we got up at 2, I unswaddled him and didn't even bother putting it back on him. I really will not be able to survive on no sleep at all.

Lots and lots of caffeine...
no really, I am so tired on days that Bella is up a few times during the night. you just get through the day the best you can and hope to get to bed early that night. Sometimes after a bad night I go to bed at like 8:30 to catch up. I do have a DH that switched off with me when she was REALLY waking up a lot...otherwise I woulda been dead in the water.

I agree.... Just look forward to the end of the day so you can try to got to bed early. There are times when I go to bed at 8:30pm after we put Nate down when we had no sleep the night before.

I don't know how I am doing it. I haven't slept in weeks. I do drink a lot of caffeine. I feel like falling asleep at my desk right now. As soon as he goes down at 7 I am going to try. I know he will be up at 3 am so I have sometime to get sleep in before then.

Yup - you just do it. Caffeine and go to bed early if you can to catch up. I never thought I could survive on so little sleep, but I am. I keep telling myself it can't last forever...

This is a HUGE fear of mine since I go back to work next week! I don't know how I am going to function!

I know exactly how you feel. It still amazes me how little sleep I can function on.

After another night of very little sleep (he was up every 2 - 3 hours), I have come to the conclusion that since I went back to work last week, Jeremy is staying up at night so he can spend more time with his mommy. He just misses me so he wants to spend as much time with me as possible What do you think?
