Moms would/do you let your 10 year old girls.....
wear colored lipgloss to school.? im curious. My dd is 10 going on 20. Her new thing is wearing lipgloss to school. Supposdly "all the girls do it". Do you allow your girls to wear it to school? thanks.

I don't have a 10 year old (and my almost 6 year old is such a tomboy that I doubt I'll have to worry about this  ) - but I think I would allow it. But ONLY lipgloss.

Sure, as long as it wasn't red or bright pink. My DD is 6 and wears lip gloss or lip balm all the time. That is the extent of it though, no other makeup is allowed.

Nope! My daughter is 12 and I still don't allow her to wear make-up. And trust me even in middle school "most of the girls" are not wearing make-up yet. (Nor are they all wearing designer clothes or thong underwear LOL) I find these things a very slippery slope. They grow up fast enough, allow them to be a kid for as long as possible.

I don't think I would allow it every day. Maybe for something special like a concert, picture day, or a dance.

If she felt really strongly about it I would let her. I wouldn't suggest it though to her. And I think I would try to sway her towards tinted lip balm.

DD is 6 and she wears lip gloss, not necessarily to school and it is usually a very light sparkly color.

Yes, no harm in a little lip gloss. My dd started wearing makeup in middle school. She still doesn't wear much but 12/13 is usually the age they want to start using it. As long as it doesn't go too far and gets too heavy, I don't see the problem.

I teach 4 th grade and alot of the girls wear colored/tinted gloss or chapstick. Seems very common

My DD is almost 7 and I let her wear tinted lipglosses and lip balms ...not everyday, but she does. No bright hideous colors though, just subtle tint. I think at 10 that is OK as long as its just lipgloss.

I do let her wear it.but ONLY that. no other make up what so ever. and its only a sheer pink. No crazy colors. :)

My 8 year old DD loves lipgloss. She wears it to school but it is light and not bold. It also wears off pretty quickly. It seems to be the norm for 3rd grade girls.
