DH is taking DS...because he is obsessed with monster trucks and he is only 22 months old!
Just a question for those who have been....should we get him headphones...is it really loud?

DH and I used to go every year for Valentines day since it always comes end of Jan/early Feb.
Now DS is obsessed with monster trucks and watches it on youtube all of the time, I am so so so so excited to bring him to the real thing.

we have gone before but I wouldnt buy tickets ahead of time again.
one year there was a huge blizzard and they didnt cancel and it took me a long time to get our money back.
lots of fun though. maybe dh will take his son this year without me.

FYI - If your kids love Monster Trucks, they do them at Riverhead Raceway in the summer also. It's a 20 mniute show, but in addition to many other races going on

We are! My mom got tix for me...dh and Noah for christmas...we all can't wait 
Question....what kind of headphones do you buy and where? Just regular ones from like target ? I haven't seen any big ones or ones that would fit his head? Do they sell them there at the show? Lol
Is it really that loud?

We are going. We go every year since our older DS was 2. This year we were fortunate enough to win tickets and not have to pay for them. Baby DS isn't coming he will have to wait till he is 2 to join in on the fun.

Yes it is really loud. You can feel it vibrating through your chest. We use ear plugs.

We drove from Patchogue in that blizzard to see that show. They said no refunds and DH was like well I guess we are going. It was insane. Freezing in the place. Then we lost our car in the parking lot. We though it would be pretty empty but it was packed still with the blizzard.

I actually thought about it cuz DS loves trucks, but decided against it due to his age and the noise/dust factor.
I think I'm more uncomfortable with all the dust you breathe in than anything (I've gone in the past) but that's mostly cuz DS is only 17 months old. If he still likes the stuff as much in the future, I'll definitely bring him - with headphones and a paper mask

We bought those for DS too...he's not really happy about wearing them but we've been trying to keep them on him for a little bit at a time so he gets used to them.
