Monthly Credit Card Bills

What does your average monthly credit card bill amount to? (New Charges only, and not carryover balances)

Re: Monthly Credit Card Bills

Ours are usually between 1,000 & 2,000. We put all of our groceries, dining out, gas, health insurance and any other bills we can on it, because we get cash back rewards. We always pay the bill in full when it comes.

We charge everything, never carry much cash and pay everything off each month (even though it hurts...on AmEx too which isn't flexible anyway) and we're in between $3-$4k.

Most utilities are charged as well.

Re: Monthly Credit Card Bills

I think I voted wrong. I voted over $4000 because that is the balance on DHs CC. Chat Icon

But if you are asking how much I charge each month, it's $0. Everything goes on the debit card in order to pay off the debt we already have.

About 1k per month. We charge everything and pay the balance in full at the end of the month.

Usually zero. But I do use my Amex for online purchases and certain things. That has to be paid in full every month. So it can vary greatly. Last month our CC bill was over $3k because I charged our vacation (booked over the phone with an agent) but I paid it in full. On the average though, I don't usually put more than $200/month on my Amex.

But we don't carry balances.

We charge everything, including utilities since we have a cashback Citibank card. Once we max out on the cash back for the year we use a card that gets us points that we can use at a bunch of different car companies.

Re: Monthly Credit Card Bills

I won't lie - we are a financial mess right now. I just went to the bank today to get an equity loan. I am hoping this is the absolute end of it. I am canceling everything and I never want to be in debt again.

At least with an equity loan you can write off the interest unlike a credit card, where you have to eat it all. Good luck!

Does the same hold true for a HELOC?

Ditto. If I am going on a trip or buy a big home item, it will be more.

Re: Monthly Credit Card Bills

Def less than $1K. We charge our groceries and gas. Whatever else we buy with a CC doesn't add up to put us over $1K every month.

Re: Monthly Credit Card Bills

We average about $1500 a mo and pay it off in full, but we put everything on the CC because we get miles. We also budget another $700 for cash purchases (cabs, deli, nails, etc.)
