Moral dilemma

Someone has left the company. They receive a package at the company from a business. It is clearly business-related as it is a promotional item.

Who gets the promo item?

No seriously, I'd open it and see what it is and what it is related to - then make the decision.

Depends on what it is. If its something I want, I keep it, if it isn't I give it away.

I would think your boss/owner decides or if thats you, and the item is share-able, it should be shared. If your the only one that knows about it, and want it, take it home for yourself! If a bunch of people want it, have a raffle!

I guess it's not food that you can share. And I'm assuming it's something good, not the usual crap tshirt or pen.

Maybe HR can have a raffle to give it away?

The boss of that person, then they can decide if someone else in the dept should get it.

If someone left the company and it is definitely a promotional item as long as the "boss" gives permission, I would open it and share. Half the time we get promotional items its candy in a candy jar, so it's easily shareable. Other times we get model cars and that we all gladly pass around the office.

I throw away the mail for people who are no longer with the company.
If it's a promo item, it's usually garbage anyway.

I used to be in charge of this same thing at work...I would share it amongst the office if it was sharable, but if not, I would raffle it off...however, if it was something I really wanted, I would take it!

I get a lot of promotional stuff from tons of companies. I know the assistants love getting this stuff so that is who I would give it to.

or is it like a promotional ipod or something?

whoever talks to this client or whomever would be the account exec for the client that sent it should get the item.
