More car drama... UPDATE on bottom (thanx for letting me vent!!!)
Today I was going to take my car that didn't pass inspection to the tire place to start fixing it up and at least get new tires as step one...
So I turn on my car and it goes, then dies... this happens every so often (especially when theres low gas) so I ease it into neutral down the driveway to get it on level ground, and try again...
So now my car won't start, still. AND its at the bottom of the driveway and peeking out into the street.
I dont know what to do. Cailen was in the back seat screaming and screaming, so I had to go back inside and now I cant even get the tires for my car.... I want to try again but I'm afraid if I let the car run while I get Cailen back into his car seat and everything, it will die again...

Re: More car drama... I really am screwed...
Call AAA and get it towed to a mechanic. Get that fixed first..you have to get it driveable before you can get tires.
Sorry you are going through this. Good luck.

The tires were the only part we can afford now - the mechanic part is WAY more money, we were going to do it next week!
I also havent belonged to AAA for a while...

I am so sorry this happened to you. It is so frustrating to have an unreliable car. I had one for 2 years and it broke down once a month. Do you have AAA? Can you call them up to tow it to a mechanic?

Have you asked J if he could take a look at it? He's pretty good with cars & should be home early.

There is nothing he is going to be able to do... I am not sure if you saw the 1st post about what my car needs - it needs over $1000 in work....

Call AAA and sign up (it takes no time at all) and get it to a mechanic.

What is making the car die?
I think you need to get that fixed before anything - cause if you get the tires - you are going to have new tires and the car is going to just sit there, cause I wouldn't feel safe driving it around with an infant.
Call you mechanic and see if he will work out a payment plan with you - some are willing to work with you. If he is not - call someone else - that will.

Does your mechanic who is going to do most of the work have a tow truck?
Oh, GEICO insurance also has the towing service, in case you have GEICO.

Nissan is always a fortune.
J. goes to the station around the corner & my mom said it's pretty reasonable.
You could wait until DH gets home & see if he can at least get the car started. Then have him follow you to the tire place (All-Weather is usually pretty good, but not an area you want to stall out).
I agree the stalling thing is more important than the tires since you don't want to be stranded.

I called my mechanic and he gave me the towing number - I spoke to DH, and since we have no choice now, we will have to tow the car over to my mechanic, and pay next week when we pick it up - thanks for letting me vent ladies, what a pain in the a s s this is....
The only good thing is thank god this is all happening when I'm on maternity leave - there would be no way for us to do this all and both have to be at work all day!!!

Ask the mechanic if he will do a pay plan with you.

Yeah - we will have to do something - he has been with us for years, so hopefully we can work something out!

Check with your insurance company they might be able to pay for the tow truck and maybe a rental car. I know I pay for rental insurance and I had a car towed and the insurance paid for it.
