More car seat/booster questions: Britax (marathon classic & parkway booster), Graco TurboBooster
Is the old Britax Marathon (from 3 years ago), definitely considered the "Classic"?
Also-- does anyone have the Britax Parkway SGL? What do you think?
And, anyone have the Graco TUrboBooster? Thinking of getting to keep in trunk for car pooling, etc.
Thanks!

White shell? Then yes, it's classic. If the shell is black, it's next generation
Parkway is a nice seat but if you're looking for one solely for carpooling, take a look at the bubble bum. Inflatable and takes nearly no room in your trunk. Turbobooster is very popular, fits a wide range of kids well and is inexpensive

shell- meaning the plastic? Yes it's more like light gray.
I was going to do the Parkway for my DD and get the backless Graco for car pooling. i looked up the bubble bum and I think the backless will work and i can just leave in it the backseat.
I was able to find the review on BabyBargains, so I think I'll be good with those.
WHats your opinion on age of car seat? My Marathon is 3 years old, but I would like to use it for my son who will be 1 in Jan, and switch my daughter, who will be 4 the same week, into the booster. The guy at BBB said you can use the seat longe r than 5 years- especially if it hasnt taken a beating, etc. Our seat has pretty much stayed in one car, and has been on one flight. Other than my daughter throwing up it in once a week from age 1-2 (fun), and taking it out and cleaning it after each time, it's been gently handled.

Brfitax says 6 years from date of manufacture for the old ones, 7 for the new black shells, it is printed on the sticker on the seat. No, there is no switch that suddenly renders it useless, but even the best cared for seat is going to suffer some damage from the sun, heat, cold, vomit etc. I can't tell you to use it past the recommended date nor should the guy at BBB. The sales people at BBB are well meaning but not always accurate. The vast majority parrot what they hear and have not taken the CPST training courses etc.
I'm not a fan of 4 year olds in boosters FT, especially new 4yos, I posted a detailed response here http://www.lifamilies.com/chat/topic-kids-ages-4-and-up-re-car-seat-727794-2.html (sorry I had some oral surgery today, so I'm not all there today and being lazy) I would look into a Naultis, Evenflo Securekid or Frontier and keep her harnessed a bit longer.
If you leave the backless turbo in the backseat make sure you belt it in, they become wicked projectiles in a crash. And make sure you put the screws in the armrests.
