More Teething Questions?

I know Jiavana is really young to start getting teeth (3 1/2 mths).

However she is definitely showing all the signs (change in bowel movements, drooling, putting everything in her mouth). She gets so cranky at times and I know its her mouth thats hurting her.

I put some Little Teethers on her gums and rubbed them and she to like that. However, I noticed the top of her mouth is really swollen. You can kind of see the outline of the two front teeth. Is this normal?

Don't they get the bottoms first? Her bottom is swollen but the top is definitely more swollen.

Anything else I can do for her? I give her the frozen rings when she loves but that doesnt last very long either. How long does it take for a tooth to break through?

Jack had 2 teeth by 3.5 months, so it is possible! They were his bottom teeth but he did have what you describe as the outline of the teeth on his top so maybe??? I would keep doing what your doing, I would also give a little tylenol too if you think she is in a lot of pain.

Re: More Teething Questions?

I think she could be getting all 4 together (I hear it happens). Ryan is def. getting the bottom two and my mom swears the top also. He is super cranky, drooling, fists contantly in mouth, diarrhea etc. I hate that there's nothing we can really do. The dr. said they should come through in like a week but I hear it can take much longer. Chat Icon

Re: More Teething Questions?

My son started the teething process at about 2 months (drooling like crazy), but did not cut a tooth until he was 7 1/2 months old! And he is over 8 months and still only has 1 tooth. Its god awful! His gums are so swollen but the teeth just dont want to come through.

The other thing you can try is wetting a washcloth and then freezing it, and giving it your baby out of the freezer. My son liked this.

I know it's possible. Caiden had his 2 lower teeth around 3.5 months. He had 8 teeth by the time he was 8 months old. (Just think I was still nursing! Chat Icon )

Connor is 3 months old today and has been drooling a lot (since 2 months) and he's always putting his fists in his mouth as well. I'm waiting for them to pop through too!
