Morning sickness at night?
Hi girls,
Is it possible to have morning sickness at 9pm? Following my wife's progesterone injection at 8:45 pm she proceeded to have diarrhea and vomiting. I dont know if her stomach was feeling queasy or nauseous the last couple of days but she did comment on having alot of gas. She is 4 weeks pregnant. She has had diarrhea before after progesterone injections, but never accompanied by vomiting. So we dont know if this was attributed to the progesterone or morning sickness though I guess morning sickness is brought on by an elevated level of progesterone. We've never been pregnant before so we are new to all of this. Thanks for everyone's feedback. Merry Christmas to all!

Re: Morning sickness at night?
Morning sickness can happen any time of day or night. In fact, this week I only feel nauseous at night before going to bed. But I would probably mention tot he doctor that she has diarrhea and vomiting and make sure she drinks plenty of water so she doesn't get dehydrated. Congratulations!!

Re: Morning sickness at night?
Could this have been food poisoning rather than morning sickness? We ate Chinese food about an hour before we did the progesterone injection so I wasnt sure if the vomitting and diarrhea were from the injection or the food. How would you know? My wife didnt complain of stomach queasiness or nausea during the day leading up to this episode, but only that she had alot of gas. It seems that most of the pregnant women who have m/s have queasiness/nausea through out the day. I'm just concerned that this was food poisoning and its affect on the embryos. She only threw up once or twice and she was fine within a short while afterwords. I thought if this was food poisoning that she might have vomitted more. This is my wife's first pregnancy and she doensnt recall ever suffering food poisoning so we really dont know what could have triggered this, besides the injection. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Re: Morning sickness at night?
First off, definitely contact your doctor to be safe. But from the sounds of it, it sounds way more likely to be from the injection or m/s or tummy bug than food poisoning. Especially if you both had the chinese food and you are feeling OK and that it happened one hour after eating. It might be different for the kind of contamination but when I had severe food poisoning they said it could take much longer for you to get sick from the food, it could have been something I ate a day or two before. Hope this helps and hope she is feeling better soon!

Re: Morning sickness at night?
Thanks to everyone for their responses. We're not sure if this was morning sickness since my wife has not had any further vomitting/diarrhea in the days since this episode and she hasnt had any other tell tale signs of m/s such as nausea. Perhaps it was her progesterone injection or a mild case of food poisoning. No one else ate my wife's food so we dont know if this was a a case of food poisoning. She had chicken and broccoli, but if this was salmonella I think she would have been in far worse shape than she was and I believe she would have been sick for days not 30 minutes.
