Mortgage Banker vs Going to a Bank
I was wondering everyones opioions on this. We are in the process of making an offer any my real estate recommended to us a mortgage banker. He said that he is based on point and doesnt get paid but the money has to come from some where right?
We are new at this and completely lost. Does anyone have any advice? Please help.....

We shopped around and went to two banks and a mortgage broker. We ended up going with a bank, which had no fees and the lowest rate of the three.

We went with a broker - he had the best rates and a very low fee that we had to pay (he made most of his commission off the lending institution).
