mortgage vent!
I know the mortgage process can be long..but we were told on several occasions you will definitely close by xmass..
We finally got our commitment on dec 22 with conditions of paperwork we had to resubmit. We were told that would happen..fine. We rush around and get all the paper work in the next day. Then it is christmas eve..they are closed. Then the blizzard..no one made it to work mon or tues. The last time I spoke to my morgage person was tues. No one will return my calls or emails and I am getting beyond frustrated!!!! now its new years eve and I doubt anyone will call me!
I am 32 weeks preg with twins so we need to close!
Do you think it would help to have our attorney call? or do I just have to deal with the bad luck of doing all this during the holidays and a blizzard?
thanks for listening!

Re: mortgage vent!
I don't have an answer for you but just wanted to offer a huggy: sort of share your frustration with you. DH and I are in the same boat, we are waiting for one piece of paperwork from my job (schools are closed this week) to get our commitment. Meanwhile this was all out of the blue, we were told weshould've received the commitment the Monday before christmas Our lawyer just said to sit tight, yeah right!

Re: mortgage vent!
We went through the same thing you did during the holiday season. It aqlways seemed someone was on vacation, or out. I seriously attribute part of your delay because of this. Luckily that should all stop now that new year is here. Good Luck and cheers to a speedy closing!

Re: mortgage vent!
i would keep calling. i'm sorry to hear you're going through this, especially at 32 weeks preggo!
If it makes you feel any better, we had troubles when closing too a few years ago. At the very last second, we were told that our closing (Dec 28) would have to be postponed until after the new year with no explanation. We had sublet our apartment as of Jan 1 so that meant we would be staying in a hotel. DH called and called and called and finally a closing date of Dec 29 opened up.

Re: mortgage vent!
I know its not the answer your looking for but its the holiday time, so its hard to get calls back. the good news is at this point you should have an underwritter working on your documents, aside from your broker so hopefully they were processing what they could in the down time.
its so fustrating. I felt like everything was stalled and all of sudden we were able to close
