Mother's Day
How do you all deal with Mother's Day?! This year I want to crawl under my covers and just sleep the entire day. I'm going out with my mom and getting my nails done and such. Not going to see DHs family. We are splitting up this year. I can't be around my SIL she knows we are having issues and goes out of her way to make us feel bad. Ugh

Re: Mother's Day
Do whatever makes you feel good.
It's hard every year. In the beginning of my IF journey, I'd stay home. Not celebrate w my mom or MiL. I just couldn't. I'd sleep the day away. Then going forward, I'd play it by ear. If I was feeling ok that day, I'd partake in family gatherings. If it was too much, I'd leave. If they don't understand, then they don't deserve how hard you are trying. I hated taking away from what the day is for all around me. It's Mother's Day. And they should be able to celebrate that without feeling sorry bc I was there. So I'd just take a step back and kinda be in the background.
My friend sends me flowers from my God daughter and my SIL gives me card from my niece for being a good aunt to her. DH will give me a card from the pups for caring for them.
It's hard no matter what. So just do as much as you can. Don't force it. If you want to stay home and sleep - do that. It's one day - we don't have to be strong. Just feel what you need to.
Know you have the support of all of us here. We are feeling it with you

Mother's Day
I felt the same way for the past 2 years.. Last year my first IVF cycle was starting right after mothers day and I didn't think I would be able to get through the day because knowing I had to go through IVF to be able to have a child was something I couldn't handle well at the time. Here we are 2 cycles later and no baby and gearing up to start a 3rd round at the end of the month..
I have no problem celebrating with my mother, she understands everything we are going through and is always very positive about it, but it's DH's family that I find it hard to celebrate with. This year we are going to be with his family but my mother is coming along.. My plan of attack is that if it gets to be too much than I will just excuse myself and leave.
Everyone deals with things differently and you have the right to feel exactly how you feel at the moment. As pp said, you have us to support you since we are all in this together.

Re: Mother's Day
I will avoid FB probably for the next week or so until all the Mother's Day posts are gone.
For the actual day, I'm just seeing my parents. I don't have a MIL.

Mother's Day
Hope everyone had a good day! I spent the day with my mom and dad. Went with my mom for a mani pedi then had dinner at their house. DH saw his family on his own and then came to my parents for dinner. I survived today. Hopefully next year we all have a Mother's Day with a little baby!

Re: Mother's Day
Gosh my first Mother's Day where it hit me not to be a mom. And sadly the black kitty in my pic.... She fell ill and I had to let her go on Saturday. Five weeks filled with tears. I'll never understand the timing of two losses at once.
I got out with friends on Sunday and the sun was heavenly. Here's to new beginnings post Mother's Day.
