Moving Questions
1. What kind of insurance did you take out on the move? Did you just take the basic $.60/pound or did you get additional insurance?
2. How much do you tip movers?

Re: Moving Questions
We just did the basic insurance that I think is part of the package, but as far as tipping, this is the info I was given and what I'm going by.
$3-4/hour/person, so for a 7 hour move, it would be about $21 for each guy times 3 guys is $63, but I'm going to the bank today and I think I'm going to give $30 to each guy ($90 for three guys) and $10 to the mattress delivery guys.

Re: Moving Questions
Heres my little story. My SIL moved to Florida from Bayside Queens. Her stuff took forever to get she kept calling and bothering the company. Well about 3 weeks later a truck pulled up a ryder truck. NOT the truck her stuff was put into. They start carrying in the boxes and everything is clanking. Its all broken. Turns out the orginal truck hit an overpass on the way to florida (HOW I have no idea since you would take 95 there) it ripped off the top of the truck and my SIL lost EVERYTHING even the clothes had tar from the street on them. THANK god the night before she moved she asked us what we thought... should she put the dresses for my wedding (4 of them) in the car for the drive or the truck, we decided in the car.
She had the .6 per pound thing and that means her brand new computer that doesnt weigh that much she didnt get that much for. She is currently in a lawsuit with them. The moving company never even bothered to tell her about the accident

Wow, that's horrible. I hope she wins the lawsuit!
I guess that was what I needed to hear to get me to getthe additional insurance. Thanks so much!
