Moving up in daycare question???

So next Tuesday DS starts a new room at his daycare. We are very excited because I happen to LOVE the girl who is the head teacher!

My question for all the BTDT moms who have had DC move into different rooms... did you give gifts to the teachers in the old room when they left? I didn't do this last time because the last time DS moved it was around the holidays and I didn't give them 2 gifts.

If you did give gifts to the old teachers, what kind of things did you give them?

I always did..mainly gift cards...starbucks, dunkin donuts...

We bought DD teachers Amex gift cards when she moved to the next room.

No, because while he does have one main teacher during the day, there are a gazillion other people in there too. I can't gift them all. So at Christmas, I give GC to the main teachers and bring in coffee and munchkins for everyone else. I also bring in bagels and stuff for everyone of teacher appreciateion day. There are just too many to single anyone out--and they all love him and I love them all (except one).

I always do. However, Matthew is now in his 4th room and when he moved from the 2nd to the 3rd it was around the holidays and I didn't give them two gifts. I just gave them some cash and brought in some donuts.

DD just started her 4th room. When she moved from 1st to 2nd room, I gave $25 cash to her 2 teachers. From 2nd to 3rd room, I gave $50 cash to the 2 teachers (she was in this room for a long time though, bc she crawled so late). She just recently moved from 3rd to 4th room and I gave each of the 3 teachers a $25 target gift card.

For holidays, I gave her 2 teachers $25 cash, and brought in cookies for the room (to include the floaters, etc). Her moving up and holidays did not correspond though.
