I watched today and I do feel bad for the woman. I couldn't imagine being in her shoes. It must have been difficult to think clearly when all that was going on.
I usually can take Oprah or leave her, but the next 5 days or so she has me hooked. I love her Favorite Things Show. The Gay show looks good. Betty's son next week. I know where I will be at 4:00 for the next few days.

I gained a whole new respect for Mary Jo. She was truly the innocent victim in this situation - her and her children. Yes - we all liked to laugh at her and mock her, but you know what - she's a lot stronger than a lot of us and I truly respect her.

Ok I have seen that movie more times than I am willing to admit. Everytime I watch it, Meredith Baxter givers me shivers. Now THAT is an award winning performance if I have ever seen one. I'll never forget the scene where she drives the Suburban into the house.

I give Mary Jo a lot of credit but she is OBVIOUSLY a therapy junkie and her therapist seems a bit BS

That wasn't her therapist - that was Oprah's resident therapist who she always has on...
I think anyone would be a therapy junkie after what that family went through
And I say good for the son to change his last name!!

I am talking about Mary Jo and what HER therapist said or should i say obviously told her
the BS that Amy looked at Mary jo as a mother figure and her venting her rage about her own mom not protecting her from the abuse
YET Joey is looked at not as the BAD dad that she had but rather a dad she always wanted
