I've heard good things about it in general and also the school district. We ruled it out only b/c it's too far north for us.

my cousins grew up in Mt Sinai and both my aunt and uncle were teachers (not in the district). they had nothing but good things to say. my mom was encouraging us to look there when house hunting but it was too far east and north for us.

You can Mt Sinai via 347/25A and County Rd 83 (Patchogue/Mt Sinai Rd).
Just keep in mind in certain areas the taxes are very high as this SD is still growing with new housing construction.

the only con I see is the limited access in and out. My friend just had one of the new Pulte Homes built off of 83... Oh my goodness....

depends where.... my BIL lives there. they pay $8 a year but they have 2 ACRES of property.
it's a great area and good schoo ldistrict.
IMO, it's way too far from anything i would want to be near, but i am such a city girl! Also 347 gets realyl jammed.

I grew up there. I have no issues with the town at all. I love the amt of property you get and the school district it good. I have nothing bad to say about it. I was the 2nd graduating class in the HS ..
Mt Sinai just built a new park and its wonderful.
I still live close by and my parents are still there.

oh I never found it hard to get in and out to the LIE , or Sunrise ect. it is pretty easy and close to the main roads. ( 25A or 83 North Ocean Ave)

it's a lovely area, but way too far east and north for DH and I.
DH works in Garden City and already has a b*tch of a commute from Holbrook.
