mucinex...How much? Update...
I am giving this month one more big shot and trying all the tricks. How much Mucinex are you supposed to take a day? I bought the 600mg tabs. Should I take one or two a day?
....Update- Because I like to share and I hope it helps I have been taking Mucinex since Sunday and this morning I noticed ALOT of EWCM on the tp. I have been watching my CM the last few months and it has NEVER looked this good ( I know that sounds a little sick). I am hoping this will help this month and we will get our BFP! I know it isn't a magic pill, but there is definately a difference. HTH

Re: mucinex...How much?
It thins out the cervical mucus to make it a "happier" place for the sperm to survive. But it is the version of mucinex/robitussin with onnly the guifenisin (sprry, not sure how to spell it) HTH

Re: mucinex...How much?
interesting. I wonder how much you have to take, and do you take it everyday, or during certain parts of your cycle?

Re: mucinex...How much?
i don't know what the "right" thing to do is but i took robitussin the month i got pregnant with DS, and the month i got pregnant with this little one. i have CM issues (it's too thick and i don't get EWCM) so i truly think this is what did the trick.
as per what i found on google i took it 4 times a day (one pill each time) from CD9 until at least one day after i O'd (which was CD13 the first time and anywhere from CD 13-15 this time).
just make sure you take the plain kind that says "expectorant" and NOT anything that says "suppressant."

HOw did you know you had CM issues? And so you don't necessarily have to take it the whole month, only up until ovulation, and then a few days after that? is there harm in taking it the entire month?

well the first three months of TTC #1 i noticed that i got very thick CM the same time each cycle, but i never got the clear stretchy stuff. i read about robitussin and CM issues on here, took it for cycle #4 and it worked! i also used pre-seed but i believe it was the robitussin that worked the "most."
robitussin and mucinex work almost immediately, so there is no reason to take it for a long period of time. but you do want to keep taking it past your O date.
the reason is: in optimal conditions (meaning EWCM), sperm can live inside your body from 2 to 5 days. for me, since i didn't have EWCM, using the mucinex helped thin out the CM i had so that it kind of turned into EWCM. then when we BD, the sperm had a good environment to wait around in until i O'd.
i would never take it for an entire month, every month, because i would not want my body to get used to it.

hmmm good to know. Once I get off these damn birth control pills ( i am on them for 2 more months for the PCOS) I have to start really paying attention to all of this stuff.
