multiple miscarriage
Im new to this site...I was just wondering how many of you had multiple miscarriages and numerous blood tests which were all "normal." Has anyone experienced this and has had a healthy pregnancy? Doctors keep telling me this is not uncommon

Re: multiple miscarriage
I've had three and I am now on meds to help prevent another (metformin etc.) My blood work did indicate problems and that is why I was prescribed meds. Good luck to you, hopefully none of us will ever experince the heart break of miscarrige again.

Re: multiple miscarriage
it seems so many drs just do the "typical" work up and nothing more and there could be hidden causes. I had 2 losses but dont think its re-curring yet as one was a stillborn.
I would ask for a copy of your labs ( what was done) ...then research , research , research online and see if there are "other" tests you can request they may have missed.

Re: multiple miscarriage
Did you have the recurrent pregnancy loss panel? This is specifically for people with multiple miscarriages. I would suggest you see a Dr who specializes in this as well. ON LI there is Dr. Braverman in Garden City. You could have immune issues, clotting issues or thyroid. I recenly read that "unexplained" is the least common reason-definitely go to a specialist. Was this your regular gyn who told you this? I also recommend The Infertility Cure by Randine Lewis-it is based on traditional Chines medicine. Good Luck
