multiple miscarriages
Hi Everyone, I'm new to this particular board but have posted on others. I'm a wife and mother to a healthy 2 1/2 year old boy who I had no trouble conceiving at all. But now I'm trying for my second and I don't know what's going wrong. Back in September I miscarried at 12 weeks and had to have a DNC I recovered and after the 2 month period my husband began TTC and we recently got pregnant again but I lost the pregnancy at 5 weeks. Now my dr. wants to run all kinds of tests to see whats happening.
On both miscarriages I got postive pregnancy tests with very faint lines even though I was already a day late with my period. With my son I got an early positive 4 days before missed period and dark line. I'm wondering if somethings wrong with me hormonally and thats why i'm miscarrying and such faint lines. I'm not sure. But I was wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this and if they could recommend anything to me in terms of tests that the doctor could run to try to figure out what's going on. I'm trying so hard to not be discouraged and to remain positive but its so hard when all you want is to be pregnant again.
I'm going Monday and they're ordering a full work up I'm open to any suggestions you might have. Thanks so much.

Re: multiple miscarriages
I don't have any suggestions but am going through the same thing. Miscarried in August at 11 weeks, then in DEcember at 8 weeks. I'm going to the doctor Wed for all my testing, so I'm in the same boat. I don't know what to expect either. And it is very frustrating.

Re: multiple miscarriages
HPTs recognize HCG. Its only a guess, but perhaps your body was not releasing enough to create the dark line that you saw when your son was conceived.
I am not a fertility specialist, but I don't think that's "your" body creating the problem. The potency of the pregnancy is what releases the hormones, which double daily in the beginning, and create the line, which darkens over time. My guesss is that the pregnancies were not viable, hence the non dark line.

Re: multiple miscarriages
I'm so sorry you are going threw this! I had two mc as well just not back to back! I wish I had some advice about the testing but my Dr. Said it wasn't necessary for me at this time! That unfortunatly it just happens blah blah blah! I guess its a good thing though getting the blood work done this way you can rule out any possible issues!! Good Luck!!
