My 6 week old won't nap :(
My Ava is 6 weeks and she only sleeps from 11:30 - 3:30 and from 4:30 to 7:30. Otherwise she naps 10 minutes 3 times a day. How do you get your baby to nap? She's not colicy, but she's fussy all day long.
If she won't sleep what other activities can I do with her?
Is it to early for a schedule? How do you get your baby on one? I'm wondering if that will help.

my DS was like that, never nap and always cranky he is still like that at 4.5 months!!! we have to hold him in order to get him to take a nap, you could try that for the time being, or the swing

Yeah - she cries everytime you put her down! I can't get anything done or eat!

Re: My 6 week old won't nap :(
My daughter was the exact same way (coincidentally, also Ava). She would not hear of it if you put her down. She never, ever, ever napped. She napped the first three weeks of her life and that was it. I found that carrying her around in a sling and an infant carrier really helped her sleep or at least give me two free hands. Also, once she was able to be a little more mobile, like even able to move her hands and grasp things, she was a much more pleasant baby. She did, however, sleep really well at night. She was sleeping 12 hours a night by about 8 or 9 weeks old, so we never pushed the napping too much. Wait and see, I bet your little girl will be a good nighttime sleeper. I know the exhaustion sucks in the beginning, but it'll get better. We would take care rides during the day when I just couldn't take holding her anymore. Also, she liked to go to the stores because she was really nosey and loved looking at everything. HTH

Re: My 6 week old won't nap :(
my dd was like this....no naps during the day....friends would talk about their morning and afternoon naptimes for their dc and i would foam at the mouth in jealousy! - but once dd started walking, she is a regular napper now for about 2-3 hrs each afternoon.....so there is hope!! (but i know how you feel!)

Have you tried bringing in the carriage and strolling her around the house? What about a white noise machine?

Re: My 6 week old won't nap :(
Jake is a great night time sleeper as well (so far / knock wood). He is 3 weeks old. While he does take naps, we have to change it up a lot - bouncy, boppy, swing, us, etc. I feel like he sleeps well at ngiht b/c he is swaddled...have you tried swaddling her for a nap?

Have you tried swaddling? My DS won't nap in his crib or cradle during the day only in his bouncy seat or swing. The swaddling works wonders for him at night.
