My almost 22 mo old has started fighting his daily nap - is this a phase or is nap time over?
For the past few weeks my DS has been fighting his naps - some days he won't nap at all just plays and talks and never sleeps. This week however he has been screaming mommy mommy mommy and crying off and on and yelling.
At first I gave into him and there was no nap but, the thing is - he NEEDS this nap. If I don't give into him he will finally fall asleep deeply and i will actually have to wake HIM up. If he doesn't nap he is SO over tired and a mess.
Is this just a phase or does this mean he is ready to stop napping? Ugh, i hope not b/c it doesn't seem like his body is ready too only his mind!
He has been napping for about 1.5 hrs a day since he was 10 months until now.
TIA!

My son just turned 2 and he no longer naps every day. If he does nap it is for the same length of time...about 3 hours but other days he doesnt nap at all and he is fine ( although the benefit is he usually goes to bed a little bit earlier, though not too much) ....
I cannot see the naps lasting here at our house that much longer ( UNFORTUNATLY )
I follow my sons lead and dont push him to nap, BUT he doesnt get overtired or cranky. If he were, like yours is...I would continue kinda pushing it on him, sounds like he does need it.
