No it wouldn't matter to me. I still think it is wrong
So no one with a criminal past should be a celebrity?
Then there would be no celebrities!
every celebrity has a criminal background
You are always so quick to and take everything literally. sheesh.
i am quick....

Re: MY American Idol Vent
i never heard anything about him beating his girlfriend... shes pregnant.
i did hear about the coke thing, but who cares about that, not I. 99% of the artists do it or did at some time. he just had to let it be piblic if he wanted to stay in the game. im sure they do drug tests and he must be clean now. people make mistakes. it doesnt make him a bad person.
eta: i also dont like the choice of words "criminal background".. he's not really a criminal. i think thats a strong acusation. when i think of a "criminl" i think ofma murderer, rapist, etc.. not someone hwo did alittle partying in his days. and im still up in hte air about the girlfriend thing... i nefer heard that

yes Scott was arrested for beating up his girlfriend..
and 99% is an exaggeration...
and criminal is not just what you think it is... if you are causght with cocaine....and you are arrested...you are a criminal

Re: MY American Idol Vent
I don't think its right either... but look at it like this...how many "role models" are out there right now who take drugs and/or beat their spouse and you don't know about it???
You're right...everyone makes mistakes in their lives but I feel that everyone should be given a second chance to redeem themselves...

Re: MY American Idol Vent
i agree with that... why did they cut them out b/c they didnt tell them? thats dumb to me. especially when someone else who dis the SAME thing gets to stay b/c they admitted it.

Re: MY American Idol Vent
Something else to think about with regards to celebs and AI specifically-I think it just calls on parents and adult caregivers to be more stringent about what kids watch on tv and what they are exposed to. Not that I plan to raise my kids in a box, but I do plan to make sure they are well aware of what an "idol" and role model should be. And IMO there are very few celebs out there who are worthy of that.

It is silly and I agree with you on that...what you do to one...you do to the other...you're right they should have ALL been given a second chance...if they were going to give it to a select few

I think that having people with criminal backgrounds on a show called AMERICAN IDOL...is wrong.
I know people make mistakes but come on... cocaine arrests, girlfriend beater...
I dunno...just doesn't sit right with me
Amen sista

But when Frenchie took off her clothes she wasn't allowed on the show anymore!

Ok so it shouldn't be fair for wife beaters/coke heads to be on the show and people who posed naked get kicked off. ALL or NONE!

Re: MY American Idol Vent
I think that someone actually getting their life together and making a positive change is role model material. Look at Tim Allen and Charles Dutton. Both of these men served time in prison before reaching their celebrity status and both have spoken out about their mistakes. I admire that people conquer their problems and have the courage to stand up and say " I did this and it was wrong. Learn from me and my colorful past and do better for yourselves."
